#MutualAid #MutualAidRequest #MutualAidNeeded #US I am angry that when we went to the DPSS office the other day to do the paperwork for renewing our #FoodStamps #SNAP benefit, she didn't even try to get us into the delayed November pool, just our eligibility went straight to December. as if I'm supposed to believe that there will be food stamp money available by then, we know that the #GovernmentShutdown isn't going to resolve itself quickly or cleanly or in a way where things are the same level of services that they were before.

we usually receive $540 in food stamps (for two people), and I usually make that last us most of the month.

I cannot afford to be getting that much groceries out of my own pocket. our parents are helping us with food such as milk, eggs, and produce as they can, but that's not overmuch and I'm trying to not pull them underwater with me.

I also have an additional person staying with us, and she usually receives somewhere over $200 in food stamps and so far there is no pending benefit.

if we've ever needed help before, we need help now. all the long term things whatever but this is short term, affects buying hydration and bread and proteins and a whole mess of stuff. some of which we have stocked up. others, like my spouse's Gatorade, that we have yet to purchase for lack of funds.
