Friday, September 6, 2024 harvest. 6 cucumbers, 2 Red Marconi sweet peppers, 1 little *tusk melon, 2 gray zucchini, and a handful of runner beans.

Some of the saved campari tomato seed tomatoes are getting ripe. They taste good!

* rhymes with, realized people probably filter that word because... passive aggressive ellipses and upward thumbs!

August 11, 2024 harvest. The first melon picked, some big tangerine tomatoes, summer squash and 'friends', and another bucket of cucumbers.

Melon update. There's one sugar baby watermelon that's pretty good sized and there's lots and lots of Minnesota midget musk melons. There's at least 8 in the photo of just one small spot in the raised bed. No green flesh honey dew of significance to report yet but they were pretty slow to start growing out.

The small musk melon bed is filling up nicely. There's a couple of sugar baby watermelon on the right edge of this too.

Melons and cucumbers are loving the warm weather. The acorn squash didn't really care that it was cooler for a couple of weeks.

Planted the replacement watermelon and green flesh honeydews today. 2 watermelons and 3 honeydew in the ground where the others have failed or not doing great, and 2 watermelon with the MN midget melons raised bed, and 1 double of honeydew in the cucumber raised bed.

First blossom on one of the MN midget melons today too.

A Summer walk at the park. The daylilies are flowering. Their bright yellow reflects the sunlight.

Amongst them, I see blossoms of a different shade. A pastel-orange, like #muskmelon.

Suddenly I have a whiff of cantaloupe in my nose and long for a juicy bite of fruit.
