The best new feature for Capy Reader is available without an app update! Miniflux upstreamed my change to support favicons via their Google Reader API. I'm grateful they took the time to review and merge these changes. Polycraftsman<p>I just realised that I can add the entire server for a <a href="https://fosstodon.org/tags/peertube" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>peertube</span></a> instance as an <a href="https://fosstodon.org/tags/rss" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>rss</span></a> feed. </p><p>I will probably do this temporarily to find creators on the instance I like or subscribe to this rss feed via mastodon so it doesn't flood my rss reader.</p><p>(I used a locally hosted <a href="https://fosstodon.org/tags/miniflux" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>miniflux</span></a> server as my rss reader, Accessed either through the browser or another app through an API, sometimes on mobile on my home network)</p>
Hope<p>The <a href="https://theres.life/tags/Miniflux" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Miniflux</span></a> 1.2.4 installation was successfull, but I'm getting a 500 when adding feeds! I think the thing is just too old, blah!!</p>
Hope<p>What's up everyone? I'm on the <a href="https://theres.life/tags/RSS" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>RSS</span></a> reader hunt. I think I've found something, it's just old. It's still around though. <a href="https://theres.life/tags/Miniflux" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Miniflux</span></a> was recently, well sometime recently changed to trend toward timeline view, when I don't know. Anyway, there's an older version of <a href="https://theres.life/tags/Miniflux" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Miniflux</span></a> that doesn't do this, thing is it's a fairly old one because it was before their rewrite lol.</p>

greyllama<p>Alright already...... it's time to set up an RSS feed aggregator. What do you all recommend? <a href="https://fosstodon.org/tags/miniflux" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>miniflux</span></a> and <a href="https://fosstodon.org/tags/freshrss" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>freshrss</span></a> seem like the leading projects here. I intend to host via docker. I think my wishlist is dark mode and some kind of push mechanism when new items arrive. Atm looks like only miniflux hits both.</p><p><a href="https://fosstodon.org/tags/SelfHosting" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>SelfHosting</span></a> <a href="https://fosstodon.org/tags/selfhosted" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>selfhosted</span></a> <span class="h-card" translate="no"><a href="https://lemmy.world/c/selfhosted" class="u-url mention" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">@<span>selfhosted</span></a></span> <span class="h-card" translate="no"><a href="https://lemmy.ml/c/selfhost" class="u-url mention" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">@<span>selfhost</span></a></span> <a href="https://fosstodon.org/tags/Docker" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Docker</span></a> <a href="https://fosstodon.org/tags/rss" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>rss</span></a></p>
Ryan<p>Wild to see, but there's no real frontrunner for FOSS RSS reader on Android?</p><p>If you have a favorite app for reading RSS, ideally one that is either Google Reader API / Fever API compatible, let me know!</p><p>I'm hosting my own aggregator with miniflux but if a reader is great enough I'll set up FreshRSS!</p><p><a href="https://hachyderm.io/tags/rss" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>rss</span></a> <a href="https://hachyderm.io/tags/android" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>android</span></a> <a href="https://hachyderm.io/tags/miniflux" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>miniflux</span></a> <a href="https://hachyderm.io/tags/foss" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>foss</span></a></p>
Ryan<p>Part of digital hoarding is why some of my reading systems have fallen apart.</p><p>Finally cleaning up my RSS feeds and moving to a self-hosted approach! Using Miniflux as the aggregator and trying out a few different clients (TBD).</p><p>Pouring one out for all the missing blogs and excellent folks of the past.</p><p><a href="https://hachyderm.io/tags/rss" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>rss</span></a> <a href="https://hachyderm.io/tags/miniflux" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>miniflux</span></a></p>
