🧵 and therefore, please, no sense of #kinship. If you talked about #intelligence or #emotions in animals, you could become an outlaw. If you talked about watching horses take medicine, or #animals griefing, most people laughed at that crazy human.

It took nearly too much time for a change but it came. The primatologist and ethologist Frans de Waal was one of the scientists who impressed me, he analysed why the #mindShift in his field of expertise came so late. theguardian.com/books/2016/oct

The Guardian · Are We Smart Enough to Know How Smart Animals Are? by Frans de Waal – reviewBy Matthew Cobb

The #UN University published their #InterconnectedRisks Report: It's a theory about how we can #change our world for sustainable living (and why it is possible): interconnectedrisks.org/

When I had the idea for my podcast about #ReconnectingWithNature, a lot of people laughed at it. Now I find this #mindshift again and even some #solarpunk ideas like #care, #humility, #sufficiency interconnectedrisks.org/2025/t Well, let's start to work on a better world, and fight this minority of destroyers! 1/2

@sleepy62 we need to kill individual cars, not only fossil cars. EVs have a much higher carbon footprint than fossil cars because of their production and the material they are built with. We will never be able to produce enough batteries to substitute fossil cars with EVs… and it would ruin the planet if we could…
We need a mind shift.

Commission for @DannyOfX

The Alchemist Hut was empty upon Danny's Arrival, outside of the door there was a Delivery Box under Lucky's name. Knowing that Lucky will be happy to have the box put in place without being stolen he took it inside, but to his bad luck once he was getting on the Lab the Box bottom felt off, lot of articles felt down and he had to quickly pick them up before Lucky's arrived. One of the last articles was a Stopwatch that once... He picked it up... He knew it was time to sell it! The Raccoon was happy to open the Shop awaiting for some fool he could seld his stuff up and for his Luck a Unfamiliar Purple Squirrel Friend was getting close! "Welcome! Welcome! Wanna see my Wonderful wares?" #Wolfaroart #TFEveryday #Transfur #Transformation #MindShift #Bloomburrow #Anthro #Raccoon

One of the ways I’ve found to give myself permission to try new things is to describe them as an experiment. Sometimes, experiments are wildly successful. Other times, not so much. But, I can learn from them regardless

If I start out with this attitude, it’s much easier to take the pressure off when I try. Since it’s an experiment, I know it might work and it might not, and I can just focus on what I learned.

What could you experiment with today?

If this resonates with you, there’s probably some perfectionism going on here. 😃 I can relate. I never liked the idea of doing something less than perfect. But, this mindset caused me to not start, not finish, and not accomplish nearly as much as I would have if I had understood the value of getting something done, and then making it better. Are you struggling with perfectionism that keeps you from getting things done? I’ve been helping people deal with that for longer than Instagram has been a thing—book a consultation call to talk about how I can help.

This was one of the things that came out of the Seramount MWC for me. Many of us (women more than men, but it’s not a gendered thing) apologize for having human needs.

Maybe we’re tired, or hungry, or lonely. Maybe our children need us to take them to the doctor. Maybe we didn’t sleep well last night.

And, maybe these human needs interfere with our ability to show up in the way we would like. We leave before the meeting ends. We mute ourselves on Zoom to address our child. We lose focus and ask for something to be repeated.

Now, there are times when it’s polite to apologize. But, sometimes apologies bring with them the idea that we did something wrong. There’s nothing wrong with being human. It’s okay to own all that stuff.

“If they really knew how much I’m struggling, they wouldn’t think so well of me.”
“I just got lucky.”

If these ideas resonate with you, it’s possible you might be dealing with impostor syndrome. No, it’s not a medical syndrome or a diagnosis, but rather a collection of mindset and habits that can be self-defeating. The good news is that, like all mindset and habits, it can be unlearned. Sound good? Read on for more:

The idea that service promotes happiness and fulfillment is nothing new, but it’s still easy for many of us (including me) to forget. I can easily drift into the trap of thinking “What’s in it for me?” and forget that the reward of service is fulfillment—a quantity that seems in short supply these days.

There’s nothing wrong with relaxing. There’s nothing wrong with being taken care of. There’s nothing wrong with recharging. But, in my experience, none of those things lead to fulfillment. If I want to be fulfilled, I need to get to work on making things better.

If you’re stuck in a place where you don’t feel like you can be of service, feel free to schedule a consult to see how I can help.
