deco<p>Ok. Obviously this is going to require a bit of refactoring, but I think she really belongs here, next to my 4 foot tall rice goddess and under the quirky, hand made Dr. Seuss'ish clock I bought in New Orleans with the swinging pendulum and.... ooooh, where you can see both of my Egon Schiele's. I mean. Obviously this is the right corner for her, right? All of my favorite things.... </p><p>Now to just rearrange the rest of this room to accommodate that 🫣🫣🤗</p><p><a href="https://defcon.social/tags/midcentury" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>midcentury</span></a> <a href="https://defcon.social/tags/midcentury_modern" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>midcentury_modern</span></a> <a href="https://defcon.social/tags/midcentury_design" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>midcentury_design</span></a> <a href="https://defcon.social/tags/finnJuhl" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>finnJuhl</span></a> <a href="https://defcon.social/tags/interiordesign" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>interiordesign</span></a> <a href="https://defcon.social/tags/furniture" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>furniture</span></a></p>
deco<p>And here's the even crazier part... You can still find vintage ones of these for tens of thousands of dollars. But I had this reproduction custom made for me in this funky purple-blue two-tone from a furniture manufacturer in China. How badass is that? </p><p>Here's a pic of it in my living room. </p><p>2/2</p><p><a href="https://defcon.social/tags/midcentury" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>midcentury</span></a> <a href="https://defcon.social/tags/midcentury_modern" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>midcentury_modern</span></a> <a href="https://defcon.social/tags/midcentury_design" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>midcentury_design</span></a> <a href="https://defcon.social/tags/finnJuhl" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>finnJuhl</span></a> <a href="https://defcon.social/tags/interiordesign" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>interiordesign</span></a> <a href="https://defcon.social/tags/furniture" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>furniture</span></a></p>
deco<p>My Finn Juhl Poet Sofa arrived!!!</p><p>So psyched! I saw a photo of one of these last year and, knowing nothing about it, was like THAT. I want that one! </p><p>So I start investigating and discover it's actually a famous design from 1941 by the Danish designer/architect, Finn Juhl. Who I knew nothing about, but there's a whole book on him, Finn Juhl: Life, Work, World, that I'm obviously now going to have to buy. Here's a lil snippet I found:</p><p>"Rather than thinking in terms of practical construction, Finn Juhl had the mind-set of a sculptor, when he shaped a piece of furniture. In the 1940s and 1950s, this way of working had never been seen before. His ambition was to design furniture with movement and life. Finn Juhl took pride in making both the structurally supportive elements of the furniture and the seated person look as though they are floating."</p><p>How AWESOME is that?! And, ooooh, so pretty!</p><p>1/</p><p><a href="https://defcon.social/tags/midcentury" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>midcentury</span></a> <a href="https://defcon.social/tags/midcentury_modern" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>midcentury_modern</span></a> <a href="https://defcon.social/tags/midcentury_design" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>midcentury_design</span></a> <a href="https://defcon.social/tags/finnJuhl" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>finnJuhl</span></a> <a href="https://defcon.social/tags/interiordesign" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>interiordesign</span></a> <a href="https://defcon.social/tags/furniture" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>furniture</span></a></p>
