That's a lotta mergansers!

15 large ducks swim from left to right across the frame in a large lake. Some of the ducks (female types) are mostly gray on the body with a rusty red head. The others (male types) are gray and black on their backs with dark green heads. Both species have long, orange bills

So, @Blueeye@mastodon.art and I were checking out a nature area on the Missouri River when we spotted a group of female #CommonMergansers. She dutifully reported the sighting to eBird, which later earned us a request for more information because this is apparently an uncommon sighting for this time of year. If I had known that, I would have tried to get the entire group in one shot instead of just these three.
