The_Hare<p>This is the other card from Atami, Shizuoka, Japan. This card celebrates 80 years of Atami’s municipality with the image of a giesha and atami’s famous plum blossoms. <a href="https://mstdn.social/tags/manholecards" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>manholecards</span></a> <a href="https://mstdn.social/tags/%E3%83%9E%E3%83%B3%E3%83%9B%E3%83%BC%E3%83%AB%E3%82%AB%E3%83%BC%E3%83%89" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>マンホールカード</span></a> <a href="https://mstdn.social/tags/%E9%9D%99%E5%B2%A1" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>静岡</span></a></p>
The_Hare<p>This is a card I picked up in the southern area of Osaka called Sakai. Along with this design, there were 12 other art deco manhole covers. Being a huge fan of art deco, this one was a must-have for me. <br /><a href="https://mstdn.social/tags/manholecards" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>manholecards</span></a> <a href="https://mstdn.social/tags/manholecovers" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>manholecovers</span></a> <a href="https://mstdn.social/tags/%E3%83%9E%E3%83%B3%E3%83%9B%E3%83%BC%E3%83%AB%E3%82%AB%E3%83%BC%E3%83%89" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>マンホールカード</span></a></p>
The_Hare<p>This card is from the city of Kofu, in the Yamanashi Prefecture, and it portrays the “The Tiger of Kai”, Takeda Shingen, one of feudal Japan’s most famous daimyos.<br /><a href="https://mstdn.social/tags/manholecards" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>manholecards</span></a> <a href="https://mstdn.social/tags/manholecovers" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>manholecovers</span></a> <a href="https://mstdn.social/tags/%E3%83%9E%E3%83%B3%E3%83%9B%E3%83%BC%E3%83%AB%E3%82%AB%E3%83%BC%E3%83%89" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>マンホールカード</span></a></p>
The_Hare<p>I got this card in Atami, Shizuoka, Japan. It depicts the climactic scene in Ozaki’s novel ‘Konjiki Yasha’ (Diamond Demon), a tragic love story of Kan-ichi and Omiya. Kan-ichi is the man Omiya was to marry. When a wealthy merchant’s son proposed with a giant diamond she refused Kan-ichi. When Kan-ichi found out, he proclaimed Omiya had been swayed by the Diamond Demon. This story made Atami a very popular tourist spot in the 1600’s and it’s still so today! <a href="https://mstdn.social/tags/manholecards" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>manholecards</span></a> <a href="https://mstdn.social/tags/manholecovers" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>manholecovers</span></a> <a href="https://mstdn.social/tags/%E3%83%9E%E3%83%B3%E3%83%9B%E3%83%BC%E3%83%AB%E3%82%AB%E3%83%BC%E3%83%89" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>マンホールカード</span></a></p>
The_Hare<p>Hello Mastodon! This is my first post and I’m glad to be here! This manhole card is from Tama City and celebrates Sanrio’s contribution to the world of art and animation!<br /><a href="https://mstdn.social/tags/manholecards" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>manholecards</span></a> <a href="https://mstdn.social/tags/manholecovers" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>manholecovers</span></a> <a href="https://mstdn.social/tags/%E3%83%9E%E3%83%B3%E3%83%9B%E3%83%BC%E3%83%AB%E3%82%AB%E3%83%BC%E3%83%89" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>マンホールカード</span></a></p>
