vilibald<p>On the topic of iLok, the only thing that I miss, and I am looking for alternatives, is the Antares Autotune stuff. They use iLok, anything that does not need iLok and is comparable in features? I am OK to use yabiridge to make it work on Linux. 13 barn owls in a trenchcoat<p><a href="https://eldritch.cafe/tags/LinuxMusicians" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>LinuxMusicians</span></a>, help me out please?</p><p>I'm after a DAW or MIDI sequencer that does</p><ol><li>step entry from the keyboard</li><li>where note length can be defined by the arrow keys</li></ol><p>Specifically, I'm looking for Musicator style input, where a key on the MIDI instrument is held and by default produces the selected note length - say an eighth - and tapping the right arrow key while the keyboard key is held will extend the length of the note - for example one right arrow tap will make the eighth a crotchet. </p><p>Anyone got anything for me, or am I back to Try Every DAW Or Use Ancient DOS Software?</p>

Amadeus Paulussen<p>Dear <a href="https://mstdn.social/tags/linuxmusicians" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>linuxmusicians</span></a>, <a href="https://mstdn.social/tags/linuxaudio" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>linuxaudio</span></a> heroes! 🤩<br />Do you think we should offer our time to <a href="https://mstdn.social/tags/plugin" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>plugin</span></a> <a href="https://mstdn.social/tags/vendor" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>vendor</span></a> (s) for free to help them port their plugins to <a href="https://mstdn.social/tags/linux" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>linux</span></a>?<br />I&#39;ve always done so in the past.<br />I also wonder if we should form some kind of consortium to proactively offer support to vendors.<br />But from my own experience, and depending on the situation, it can quickly become a lot of work.<br />What are your thoughts on this?</p>
