Finally my S10 is ready for a few more years. Updated to Android 14 with the latest patches from December and a brand new original battery should do the trick. The specs are still good and the parts were all top notch back in 2019.

It took the cell phone shop less than 30 minutes to swap the old battery. Best service I could hope for. 60€ is not cheap but no phone for 60-120€ beats the S10. Furthermore it saves resources.

That is actually my planned path forward.
I just got a #Fairphone5 and plan to set it up (still using Google apps). I will degoogle my old phone, check that everything is working and then I'm planning to switch the Fairphone too.

Last time I used #LinageOS my banking app wasn't working (if this is still the case I am thinking of switching the bank)

Which Android phone to buy?

While I couldn't find any statements from OnePlus regarding the End of Support my #OnePlus N10 #Android phone seems to no longer receive updates.

It looks to me that I need a new phone (or install an alternative OS)

Ideally, I would move away from Google during this process (I'm slightly afraid of this)
To have a fallback while doing so, I'm inclined to buy a new phone (my online banking app didn't work on #LinageOS in the past)

But which?

Regarding a De-Google OS there are different options:

@GrapheneOS is currently my favorite. But this would me to require a Google Pixel (again which)
And I find it slightly ironic that I have to by Google hardware to de-google my phone ;-)

Another option would be @e_mydata
Which, while it supports multiple OnePlus models, doesn't support the N10. So now the "new phone" choice is not restricted to which Pixel.

The third option is a #Fairphone (they don't seem to be on Mastodon) which would be combinable with e/OS

Or I buy "any" phone and install @LineageOS

So I'm looking for phone or OS recommendation?

Ich nutze seedvault in Kombination mit Nextcloud, dafür braucht man aber eine CostomRom. #linageos klappt auf jeden Fall, keine Ahnung welche Roms das Modul auch noch eingebaut haben.

Man kann über Nextcloud und über webdav die Sicherungen hochladen, webdav funktioniert bei mir aber nicht reibungslos. Naja, wäre sowieso die gleiche Nextcloud.

Ich verwende #nextcloudaio auf meinen #odroid (Kleinstrechner) Zuhause auf einer SSD. #letsencrypt automatisch mit dabei.

Mal eine Frage in die Runde: Weiß Jemand aus dem Raum #Nurnberg oder #mittelfranken wo man Hilfe beim #Flashen von #LinageOS bekommen kann wenn ma. Es alleine nicht Schafft? #wurzburg würde auch noch gehen. Boost gerne gesehen.

Dank #LinageOS läuft mein altes S4-Mini(!) immer noch stabil, allerdings nicht als Erstgerät.
Lt. Samsung bzw. Google hätte es schon vor vielen Jahren verschrottet werden müssen, da (abgesehen von der Sicherheit) kaum noch Apps installiert werden konnten (Android 4.4).
Schade, dass Hersteller nicht gezwungen sind, abwärtskompatible Betriebssysteme anzubieten oder ihre eigenen zumindest freigeben für die Open-Source-Entwicklung.
Auch #win10 läuft noch(!) auf 10 Jahre alten Geräten.

Qui aurait un #tuto simple et efficace pour #installer #linageos (ou sinon un classic #android) sur un #Xiaomi #rednote7 ?

J'en ai marre de ne rien maitriser sur cet OS coprolithique qu'est MUI (notamment le fait de ne pas pouvoir simplement purger le cache présent dans "Autre" ou supprimer les applis MUI)

Mit Resurrection Remix OS + gapps + MotoCam2 ein #Android 10 auf #Moto #G5SPlus installiert. Scheint im Vergleich bisher am besten darauf zu laufen.

Sogar die Tan-App der Bank funktioniert damit und verbindet sich mit der Cam. Dies klappte bei allen vorherigen Versuchen mit #LinageOS , #AOSP Varianten nie.
