ArtsandSocks 🧶🪡<p>Okay, if you need a. ArtsandSocks 🧶🪡<p>Mt May socks are finished. The pattern is Collection of Columns by Nancy Wheeler using my usual vanilla socks recipe. The yarn is from Area 51 Yarns from Regina, SK. I was told the other day they are the "happiest socks ever", and while they may not be the happiest, they are near the top of all time happy socks.</p><p><a href="https://ottawa.place/tags/knitting" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>knitting</span></a> <a href="https://ottawa.place/tags/knittingSocks" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>knittingSocks</span></a></p>
penpencilbrush🇨🇦<p>I love this yarn! It&#39;s from Lichen &amp; Lace in Sackville, New Brunswick. Called Wildflower Remix. So soft.<br />Went with plain sock pattern because the yarn is enough. One sock done, just cast on the second.</p><p><a href="https://mstdn.social/tags/knitting" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>knitting</span></a> <a href="https://mstdn.social/tags/knittingSocks" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>knittingSocks</span></a> <a href="https://mstdn.social/tags/yarn" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>yarn</span></a></p>
ArtsandSocks 🧶🪡<p>I finished my first May sock and cast on the second. The best way to prevent "second sock syndrome" is to cast on the second sock before the needles get distracted by some other pretty yarn.<br><a href="https://ottawa.place/tags/knitting" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>knitting</span></a> <a href="https://ottawa.place/tags/knittingSocks" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>knittingSocks</span></a></p>
ArtsandSocks 🧶🪡<p>A very spring colours sock, disguised as a bird. Just a bit of Saturday morning silliness.<br><a href="https://ottawa.place/tags/knitting" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>knitting</span></a> <a href="https://ottawa.place/tags/knittingSocks" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>knittingSocks</span></a></p>
fibers.and.craftsLast weekend I finished a pair of socks that I casted on on New Year's Eve when I was in desperate need of spring back then and these colours scream spring to me. They are also some kind of souvenir socks as I bought the yarn (LITLG Fine Sock) on a trip to Berlin a few months ago.<br> <br> <a href="https://pixelfed.art/discover/tags/knitting?src=hash" class="u-url hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#knitting</a> <a href="https://pixelfed.art/discover/tags/knittingsocks?src=hash" class="u-url hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#knittingsocks</a> <a href="https://pixelfed.art/discover/tags/spring?src=hash" class="u-url hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#spring</a>
ArtsandSocks 🧶🪡<p>My April socks have started early. I love this rainbow ombre yarn. It brightens my day, and helps me forget that it is still snowing. The yarn colour is called Harmony, and they are a birthday gift for a May birthday.<br><a href="https://ottawa.place/tags/knitting" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>knitting</span></a> <a href="https://ottawa.place/tags/knittingsocks" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>knittingsocks</span></a></p>

Gard Witch Craft<p>Finished home socks from a very unusual yarn. It was very interesting and fast.</p><p><a href="https://toot.garden/tags/Knitting" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Knitting</span></a> <a href="https://toot.garden/tags/KnittingSocks" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>KnittingSocks</span></a> <a href="https://toot.garden/tags/HandMade" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>HandMade</span></a> <a href="https://toot.garden/tags/Crafts" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Crafts</span></a></p>
Gard Witch Craft<p>These socks are done. I'm happy to move the tutorial file to the "Done" folder. I bought it almost a year ago and started to think I'd never make them.</p><p><a href="https://toot.garden/tags/Knitting" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Knitting</span></a> <a href="https://toot.garden/tags/KnittingSocks" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>KnittingSocks</span></a> <a href="https://toot.garden/tags/HandMade" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>HandMade</span></a> <a href="https://toot.garden/tags/Crafts" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Crafts</span></a></p>

ArtsandSocks 🧶🪡<p>I finished my February socks ( on March 1). Close! I grafted the toe on the second sock, this morning, and now they are ready to wear. The pattern is "Trailblazer Socks" by Winwick Mum. It is free on her website.<br><a href="https://www.winwickmum.co.uk/2025/01/trailblazer-socks-free-pattern-and-tutorial.html" rel="nofollow noopener" translate="no" target="_blank"><span class="invisible">https://www.</span><span class="ellipsis">winwickmum.co.uk/2025/01/trail</span><span class="invisible">blazer-socks-free-pattern-and-tutorial.html</span></a><br>The yarn is TurtlePurl Yarn from New Brunswick, in Cannonball. <br><a href="https://ottawa.place/tags/knitting" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>knitting</span></a> <a href="https://ottawa.place/tags/knittingsocks" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>knittingsocks</span></a></p>

ArtsandSocks 🧶🪡<p>The February socks are nearly finished. I'm just about to turn the heel on the second sock. After I finish this, March may be devoted to finishing some WIP's. Alix H<p>Ma mère me fait des Paradiesvogel de Scarlett Plume. L'échantillon est faux mais je ne trouve nulle part la correction dans les notes ou les commentaires de ravelry en français et anglais. Quelqu'un parle allemand pour vérifier l'original ?</p><p>My mother made Paradiesvogel socks from Scarlett Plume for me. Gauge is false but there is no revision in French or English note. ArtsandSocks 🧶🪡<p>Important question for the sock knitters: How many pairs of hand knit socks should I have? Since they need to be hand washed, what is the optimum number?</p><p><a href="https://ottawa.place/tags/knitting" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>knitting</span></a> <a href="https://ottawa.place/tags/knittingsocks" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>knittingsocks</span></a></p>
Naomi<p>I am still not sure about the best way to cast on a cuff down knitted sock. I tried different cast ons but I am never really happy with it. Sometimes it is a bit tight, but neat, other times it is loose enough, but not so neat. And of course I want it to be perfect: easy to put on and great looking 😇</p><p>What way do you prefer to cast on your cuff down knitted socks? And what about needle size (bigger or the same as the other parts of te sock)?</p><p><a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/knitting" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>knitting</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/knittingsocks" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>knittingsocks</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/question" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>question</span></a></p>
