Addendum: Lest you dismiss what I'm trying to tell you as just random thoughts from a random old man - THIS IS WHAT I USED TO DO FOR A LIVING. I did NOT wait for to call me. If I knew there was a story brewing I needed to get in on, or if I wanted to CREATE a story, I picked up the phone and made the calls and said, "hey, I've got a few things to say," and know what? Next edition, what I had to say was there (some, of it anyway!). It's not a secret. Reporters NEED sources. Be one.

This should be easy to understand, but apparently it's not, so - Real are going to piss you off sometimes (not every time, tho). If your go-to just does a better job of saying what you already believe? They're not what you think they are.

Real journalists quote real people they've really interviewed. They cite sources, provide links, don't make the story a validation of their own beliefs. I'm not a journalist. My father was a journalist. But he'd be as pissed as I am.
