A #WealthTax to support a comprehensive #insulation and #retrofit programme would be very welcome…but I would say that as I work to insulate social housing.
My concern is that any huge sum raised needs to be spent in such a way that it makes real impact on homes and is delivered well and at pace. That requires a skilled, dedicated workforce and less fragmentation and bureaucracy around the finance and process of it.
But that would require a serious look at the class tensions of the industry.

I am getting my van back soon. Am looking at vapour permeable insulation. I am really grateful to have worked on buildings. I know I want and the best products. Some new ones have come on the market though, so I might need to go see a builder friend about those new ones

Anybody have insight/experience on how to get nailed on plywood off of a under bump out soffit? I can just rip it off but I'd prefer to just reuse it once I'm done.
Unfortunately it's edges are mostly covered by the house or siding

My #heatpump is ordered from #Octopus. And I'm about to get the roof and wall #insulation started. But first I will chop the chimneys off, as soon as the old heating has gone. #Solar will have to wait till the roof has been retiled. More space without chimneys for solar panels too.
