I am disappointed, if this will be Apple's replacement for the iPhone SE series as a cheapest phone model. Due to price, I think that we (in the family) will need to find other options. Who can spend over 700€ to (multiple) phone(s)?

Good is that design is dated back to earlier SE model which I liked.

Apple (Suomi)iPhone 16eiPhone 16e. A18-siru. Huikea akunkesto. Lujaa tekoa. 48 Mpix kamera. Super Retina XDR ‑näyttö. Suunniteltu Apple Intelligenceä varten.

I contend that #Apple made a mistake killing the #iPhoneSE and replacing it with the significantly more expensive #iPhone16e. They should have brought back the Mini and made a “Light” version of it for the SE line to have two small phones. #tech #smartphones #DumbTechTricks macworld.com/article/2750947/t

@jnv I can totally relate to accepting inconvenience in order to get other things such as less dependency, more off-screen time and so forth.

I totally get this.

However, it's a no-go to ignore all risks associated by the fact that this device doesn't receive any security updates for many years.

You just don't want to run something risky like this.

On the other hand side, since he's running an #Apple device, #privacy doesn't seem to be of any importance.

Yes, Apple should be within your risk management as well, they're too often not good at it and use most of your data for their purpose.

However, besides privacy, #security should be one of your concerns - independent of your understanding all the implications or not. Just listen to all the security experts begging you to keep your systems up to date. It's your data, your money, your life that is at stake here.

Verwirrende Bezeichnungen: Was meint das "e" beim neuen iPhone 16e?

Einst gab es beim iPhone sogenannte "S"-Modelle. Die fielen dann weg. Später kam das "SE" als Einstiegsmodell, nun folgt das "16e". Eine kleine Warenkunde.
