RinPrivate Carpark… for me?… Why thanks so much 🙏 <br> Now that’s how you SHOULD treat disabled people!!!<br> This is my upright walker, keeps me stable and my bendy body straight and means I can walk quite a long way 😁 <br> <a href="https://pixelfed.social/discover/tags/ehlersdanlossyndrome?src=hash" class="u-url hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#ehlersdanlossyndrome</a> <a href="https://pixelfed.social/discover/tags/eds?src=hash" class="u-url hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#eds</a> <a href="https://pixelfed.social/discover/tags/hypermobility?src=hash" class="u-url hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#hypermobility</a> <a href="https://pixelfed.social/discover/tags/physicallydisabled?src=hash" class="u-url hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#physicallydisabled</a>
Kelly's Shenanigans 🇨🇦<p>Just in case anyone else needs this and doesn't know: I got a migraine from a mast cell reaction because of something I ate. I take a daily antihistamine, and after the migraine started, I took Pepcid AC, within an hour the migraine was gone. This is especially important if you, like me, are in the middle of the hypermobility/neurodivergent/mast cell venn diagram. <a href="https://yeg.bike/tags/ActuallyAutistic" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>ActuallyAutistic</span></a> <a href="https://yeg.bike/tags/ActuallyADHD" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>ActuallyADHD</span></a> <a href="https://yeg.bike/tags/hypermobility" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>hypermobility</span></a> <a href="https://yeg.bike/tags/MastCellActivation" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>MastCellActivation</span></a> <a href="https://yeg.bike/tags/migraine" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>migraine</span></a></p>

LPT: do not play the "are you hyper-mobile" game (bending joints into odd positions) with your hyper-mobile friend right before a long drive.

Turns out I am hyper-mobile in some joints and some ranges of motion I thought were normal aren't and doing too much can make your driving hands sad and sensitive to driving vibrations.

It was nice having a non-hyper-mobile friend there to make faces and confirm that certain motions weren't standard. Also I should talk to my physician about this.

A friendly reminder to anyone who has Ehlers-Danlos or has joint hypermobility (aka "double-jointed"):

*****
Avoid the antibiotic Cipro like the plague.
*****

It can destroy your body. It weakens tendons and ligaments and makes them susceptible to abruptly bursting or snapping. The effects of the drug can be long-term. My brother took it and had to have major surgery to have a tendon reattached in his thumb. His story isn't nearly as horrible as others I have heard.

Today I went for my first run in well over a year. I hope I will be able to keep it up. I used to do trail, mountain, and obstacle course races, but my health has made it very hard to pick that back up again. I have problematic feet. They are hypermobile with extremely flexible Achilles tendons. That means there is absolutely no bounce to my running, and every stride is strictly muscular. Tie that in with recurring Achilles tendonopathy, and it makes running almost impossible. But I'm gonna try to get my foot strength/endurance back. #running #hypermobility #AchillesTendonopathy #InvisibleDisability

Hypermobile mourning dove?? I've seen a lot of bird yoga, but never seen a bird flip his wing to the wrong side of his body before. (He was fine, just repeated the stretch on the other side and finished his bath)

So I come to the hivemind:

do any of you all have any recommendations or favorite things that you have used on your own person to help keep you from accidentally injuring yourself?

Not just hands/fingers/wrists. But also arms/elbows, shoulders, knees and ankles.
