That's a point. Burning cars is rather stupid (although that brick on wheels, a car?). For one fascism is the culprit not cars, second EV cars are even less a problem that fossils ones, and third, burning them releases a hell of a lot of toxic fumes and spill, contaminating the surroundings.
But from that inside job angle it starts to make sense.
