The Luxembourgish government is about to destroy a historic monument! (please boost :boost_ok: )

"Wandmillen" (translating to windmills) is a historic monument located in Val Fleuri, Belair. It is currently in a bad state as it has been ignored for a while.
Luxembourg's main hospital "CHL" has been undergoing heavy construction works for some years now. Recently, articles were published that this historic site is "in the way" of the new construction works, and it would "Block the fastest route for ambulances".

It is painfully obvious that the plan was always to destroy part of Luxembourg's history, the entire area is under construction and they could easily choose to preserve this site if they gave a sh*t.

L'essentiel's latest article concludes with "Sa conservation sur place est cepandant exclue." (en: Conservation is therefore out of the question.)

I am trying to find people that like me, want to put a stop to this destruction. please boost this post to and get in contact with me if you want to help.

A Visitor’s Perspective of the Hagia Sophia

Another tourist watches for a moment before taking her own photo with her phone, inside the Hagia Sophia in Istanbul. Non Muslims are restricted in where they can go now because it was turned back into a mosque again in 2020.

This was on the morning after I spent the day in bed recovering from food poisoning, so I didn’t take a whole lot of photos and had to go back to bed afterwards as I was so tired from the walk. This page has a number of photos showing what it’s like. Definitely try to avoid the busy times. It’s thronged with visitors.

When I walk through the arcades of the South Cemetery in Leipzig, I feel a peculiar sense of calm. The arches and stone columns frame my thoughts in a quiet, almost sacred way. Light and shadow dance there at a pace that slows me down, allowing me to pause – as if time itself were gently stepping aside for a moment of reflection.
