For balance, after whinging about #GWR's bike storage earlier I was impressed that they offer free menstrual supplies in station toilets (in Weston-Super-Mare at least)

Has the person who designed the #GWR bike storage lockers ever owned or even actually seen a bike?

You're supposed to pivot them upwards and secure them with the hooks, but mine's too short so doesn't reach the top hook with the rear wheel on the ground. This would mean I'd have to hang the entire bike from the top hook, which might be okay for a carbon fibre frame but my heavy steel frame would completely fuck up my wheels if I tried

Extra trains provided for Wales v England Six Nations’ Cardiff fixture

GWR say that trains are expected to be very busy immediately after the match at the Principality Stadium and a queueing system will be in place outside Cardiff Central station. Fans are being reminded to allow plenty of time to queue to board trains safely.

GWR will operate a total of six additional services on top of the usual timetabled service to Cardiff ahead of the 1645 kick-off, with a further five extra trains carrying rugby fans home afterwards. As well as extra trains, GWR will also put on extra carriages.

In a repeat of the usual system in place for previous Wales Six Nations fixtures supporters travelling east towards Newport will be asked to queue on the square in front of Cardiff Central, rather than from Riverside Car Park.

GWR Customer Services Director, Rachel Geliamassi, said: “We are pleased to once again be able to support travel to/from the Principality Stadium; however, customers are advised that trains immediately before and after the match will be really busy, and a queuing system will be in place at the station.

“We would encourage customers to check journey times and allow sufficient time to board trains safely.”

GWR is delivering five additional services before the match, providing an extra 2,600 seats, with circa 3,000 extra seats (on five additional trains) after the event to get people home, on top of the usual train timetable.

A delightful, frosty, misty morning today. The lengthening days mean I'm travelling into London during the morning twilight, and indeed, there are some lovely views out of the #train window.

Which is nice. Because thanks to a signal failure, I've had to swap my usual 23m express for a 1h30 alternative route. Sigh. #gwr #signalfailure

Back from FOSDEM in Brussels, and what an adventure it was! Tried to catch a train from Brussels-Luxembourg station to Brussels-Midi, but it was running 30 minutes late. No bother—opted for a rental bike instead. One of the perks of travelling with a backpack over a wheelie bag: you can cycle your way out of trouble! 🚴‍♂️

Then, my Eurostar got cancelled. They bumped me onto the next one, two hours later. The departure lounge was packed with FOSDEM folk, and the train itself felt like a moving afterparty—nerdy conversations galore! 🚄✨

Finally made it back to the UK: Underground to Paddington, GWR to Bristol Temple Meads, and a quick bike ride home to wrap it all up. Proper FOSDEM fringe experience, really.
