Sitting in the Morning Sun

In the water off the beach at Gulfport, Mississippi, there are several timber piles, reaching up out of the water a hundred meters or so offshore. Birds use them to rest on, particularly the birds who dive for their food. This silhouetted bird appears to be a brown pelican (Pelecanus occidentalis).

My photo gallery contains more that 900 images that I've chosen to share. Most are there for their visual appeal but there are a few novelty images. You can check out my gallery at:

Laughing Gull and Wave, Black and White

This is a laughing (Leucophaeus atricilla) that I saw in Gulfport, Mississippi. What really caught my eye is the little boiling wave to the right of the gull.

I don't post all of the photos that I post here to my Pixels gallery, but I post the photos I like best. Some don't make the cut. I usually wait a couple of days and see how I feel about it then.

The best part of our entire excursion was we did not meet even ONE rude person.

Nobody pushed, nobody snarked, & people actually smiled & held doors for us. Even the wildest unleashed children were all smiles & polite too.

Every customer, store clerk, waitress, or worker we encountered was reasonably pleasant & seemed happy.

I'm pretty sure they have drugged Gulfport's water supply, tbh.
