Is there a currently made and readily available #GuitarSynth or #MidiGuitar that doesn't rely soley on pitch to midi conversion to learn what note is being played?
I believe there were some moves in that direction 20-30 years ago, but recent stuff I can find is all high latency pitch to midi.
I have been working on microtonal things where I need to use synths, but I'm not a keyboard player - so looking for a guitar-like interface.
Pat Metheny with Charlie Haden & Billy Higgins - 'Rejoicing' (1984) (1996 remaster)
Fine & subtle jazz album by #PatMetheny, w/ #CharlieHaden (b) & #BillyHiggins (d). Half of the material is composed by #OrnetteColeman. Sporadically, #Metheny plays his #guitarsynth and it's awesome.
This is one of the older ambient pieces that will be on the upcoming album. Looking forward to hearing what y'all have to say about it. It's short and sweet.

I'm working on increasing my YouTube presence to the point where I can start drawing a bit of income from my posts there. I'd be honored if folks would check out the channel - mostly my music and music videos for now - and subscribe, like, and comment. Thank you! Hope to see you there.
Grateful Dead sound technician Bob Bralove did an 'ask me anything' last night on reddit and answered my question about Jerry Garcia's guitar synth rig. You can read the Q&A here...
The whole thread is worth reading if you are interested in this aspect of the Dead. Lots of great questions asked.
