From the Workers Circle and Jews for a Secular Democracy:

Moderated by Nomi Joyrich from JFASD, our panel of experts will highlight real-world examples of gender-based discrimination, discuss the Jewish values that implore us to pay attention and take action, examine its far-reaching impact on individuals and communities, and offer practical tools for advocacy.

In this webinar, you’ll learn how to better engage in informed conversations with family, friends, and elected officials, and explore what it means to be a strong ally to the LGTBQ+ community in the fight for gender equity and religious freedom.

Happy to see Rosalind Franklin recognized in an official #FDA guidance published in Nov '24, referring to "Watson-Crick-Franklin" base pairs. The term "Watson-Crick base pairs" referred to the specific pairing of nucleotide bases (A/T, G/C) in the #DNA double helix. Franklin's critical X-ray data enabled Watson and Crick to deduce the double-helix structure but her contribution was down-played and only recently recognized. Hopefully the triple ref will stick!

From The NY Times: On at least three recent occasions, senior Trump press aides have refused to engage with reporters’ questions because the journalists listed identifying pronouns in their email signatures.

“As a matter of policy, we do not respond to reporters with pronouns in their bios […] as it shows they ignore scientific realities and therefore ignore facts.” Karoline Leavitt, the White House press secretary wrote.

The event hosted by #UNWomen called "Defending the Women Who Defend the Planet" reminded us that #GenderBasedViolence takes many forms and harm can be caused through #war, #extractivism, #foodinsecurity, lack of #water, etc. Women need to participate, not just consult, in decision-making. #Violence against a woman's body when she is using it to tend to land & #biodiversity should be unimaginable. If there is no safety for #women, there is no safety for anyone. #COP16 #genderjustice #genderequity
