Shantell Powell<p>I deviated from my usual eating patterns for my birthday party on Sunday and am still dealing with the repercussions today. I love birthday cake, strawberry daiquiris, and snacking all day, but my GI tract does not. It went on strike. </p><p>I was so bloated last night that I looked third-trimester pregnant. I'm considerably smaller today after deplorable bathroom shenanigans taking place throughout the night courtesy of a teeny weeny pill, but I have no appetite. I have been sipping on tea and avoiding the gym. Hopefully I'll be recovered enough for <span class="h-card" translate="no"><a href="https://mstdn.games/@Knightky" class="u-url mention" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">@<span>Knightky</span></a></span> 's work party tomorrow. Lisa M-N<p>Gastroparesen skenar just nu.
Chris Geoghooligan<p>I made the rookie mistake yesterday of saying out loud that my <a href="https://toot.community/tags/gastroparesis" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>gastroparesis</span></a> hasn’t been bad this last week and as a result my BG has been much better. It’s been 1:15 since then and I’m only at 116 mg/dL.</p><p>Sometime this evening, unannounced, my BG will skyrocket when I start to digest. Meanwhile I’m fighting to not be hypo.</p>

Chris Geoghooligan<p>Attn: <a href="https://toot.community/tags/T1D" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>T1D</span></a> folks.</p><p>Have you any experience with <a href="https://toot.community/tags/fiasp" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>fiasp</span></a>, particularly as used in an <a href="https://toot.community/tags/insulin" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>insulin</span></a> pump? How does it compare to <a href="https://toot.community/tags/humalog" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>humalog</span></a> or <a href="https://toot.community/tags/novolog" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>novolog</span></a>?</p><p>I take <a href="https://toot.community/tags/novolog" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>novolog</span></a> via my <a href="https://toot.community/tags/tandem" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>tandem</span></a> <a href="https://toot.community/tags/tslim" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>tslim</span></a>, but I’m finding it increasingly difficult to control my BG as my <a href="https://toot.community/tags/gastroparesis" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>gastroparesis</span></a> grows more erratic over time. I’m wondering if a faster-acting insulin might help, allowing me to NOT bolus until I see a BG rise when my stupid stomach decides to start digesting (sometimes immediately, sometimes 4 hours later).</p>
Chris Geoghooligan<p>My current routine is not working &amp; my BG has been awful. Large spike in the AM when I eat literally anything (cortisol yay!), sustained high until the evening then a multi-hour descent to hypo when my <a href="https://toot.community/tags/gastroparesis" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>gastroparesis</span></a> kicks in, followed by a rebound as I <a href="https://toot.community/tags/EatTheKitchen" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>EatTheKitchen</span></a>.</p><p>So I’m switching things up. Quick small breakfast, hop on the bike to fight spike, then cold brew as a treat. Hopefully addressing the early high will tamp down the later variance.</p><p><a href="https://toot.community/tags/T1D" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>T1D</span></a> <a href="https://toot.community/tags/Type1Diabetes" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Type1Diabetes</span></a> <a href="https://toot.community/tags/Diabetes" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Diabetes</span></a> <a href="https://toot.community/tags/DiabeticProblems" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>DiabeticProblems</span></a></p>
