Hans van ZijstAs many of my followers will know, I'm an avid #<a class="" href="https://social.woefdram.nl/search?tag=Matrix" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Matrix</a> user. I fell in love with it the moment I first read about it, and I've run my own homeserver for more than 6 years now.<br><br>I've bought merchandise, I volunteered for #<a class="" href="https://social.woefdram.nl/search?tag=FOSDEM" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">FOSDEM</a> (but couldn't, because I fell sick) and have tried to onboard people since the beginning. Some people find that annoying, but I'm doing it for the greater good that is private communication without #<a class="" href="https://social.woefdram.nl/search?tag=surveillance" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">surveillance</a>.<br><br>Today I finally put my money where my mouth is, and I became a member of the @<a href="https://mastodon.matrix.org/users/matrix" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">The Matrix.org Foundation</a>. I'm not rich, so I had to settle for €10 a month, but if half of all the serious Matrix users would do that, the Foundation would be out of the woods.<br><br>Spread the word, donate and most of all: use Matrix!<br><br> <a href="https://social.riley.pub/@robin" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank"></a><span><a href="https://social.riley.pub/@robin" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Robin Riley</a> wrote the following <a href="https://social.riley.pub/@robin/114037884210093999" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">post</a> <span class="">Thu, 20 Feb 2025 20:33:40 +0100</span></span> <a href="https://mastodon.matrix.org/@matrix" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">@matrix</a> has gone from $0 to $561K in recurring revenue in just 2 years.
