Work in progress
Mini watercolor painting about Happiness is a butterfly
J’ai eu envie de peindre juste pour le plaisir, faire une pause dans mon travail, dans mon stress et ma course quotidienne, sur une chute de papier je me laisse porter
This week's #FollowFriday on #Hive. Some people think #blockchain is just about money, but we have a nice community there. Just because the price sucks right now people are not complaining all the time.

Hi guys!! The week has already passed, and that means we are entering the weekend!! And as every Friday, we do the #followfriday section!! Hope everyone's day and weekend goes really smoothly!! Here I leave some people to follow!!
Some numbers. $2,500 is left on our fundraiser. We're halfway. I'd freaking love to hit that.
But if we can't, bare-bones I need $300 for a generator rental (we are off-grid and fully self-powered. More funds and I'll do bigger solar this gear), $100 for educational decor, and I pulled $700 from my (meager) savings for poorer campers already.
$1,100 would do a LOT.

Hey fantastic Fedi-folk! Y'all've been so good this week that you can have a little follow list as a treat!
So without further ado:
- @screwturn for writing and short stories
- @h3mmy for amazing rope-work and beautiful alt-text
- @aronow for just being a lovely person who makes my timeline more enjoyable
- @ac0rn for being generally awesome
- @alexadeswift for being my favorite reporter of queerphobic accounts
- @weirdo for suggesting "gentleman caller" for my gentleman caller (he likes it)
Haven’t managed a #FF in a bit - but I’ve just had a gorgeous #commision piece arrived. So, here’s two #art recommendations off the back of that.
@welshpixie - gorgeous calligraphy focused prints with the most beautiful bordering and lettering. 10/10 would hire to “Book of Kells” a memoir.
@Ciaraioch - one of the best people on the internet - will make you burst out laughing. Wonderfully unique and brilliant style that’s cheeky and utterly captivating.
And as every #followfriday here's a recommendation:
Regularly nice #vegan recipe ideas? No prob!
Jessica in the Kitchen serves you!
Friday is fine for following fellow Fediverse folks. #FollowFriday
My personal picks in no particular order.

@david_weber l'homme-revue-de-presse complémentaire des off de @paul_denton
...Et bien sûr mon cher @danahilliot pour ses auteurs dont on n'a jamais entendu parler avant mais maintenant si, pour son humanisme décolonial féroce et pour Miss Iris de la Loupette !
Today for #FollowFriday, I'd like to give fellow South African author @JoanDeLaHaye some love. I did share her profile the other day, but, you know, it wasn't Friday, so let's give her another shot. She's new here and could do with some more follows.
She writes horror and thriller fiction, and she's got a new book out for Easter called Killer Little Bunny. Oh, and you can get one of her books for free if you sign up for her email newsletter. :-)

Last of all, Atlas Obscura’s story about a giant almond that’s driving its way around America, and the uniquely American habit of making massive food vehicles, which @CultureDesk shared earlier this week. They wanted to know if any other countries had Poutine Mobiles, Camembert Camions or Kartoffelwagens. “Keep your wiener and almonds to yourselves,” wrote one commenter.

@thecontinent has a guest post this week from the Harare Review of Books. Here’s a review of Freda Epum’s memoir, “The Gloomy Girl Variety Show,” a book about the Nigerian-American writer and artists’s search for belonging in Tucson, Arizona. “Epum may call herself a gloomy girl, but she is cool to hang out with in these pages. Her memoir is lively, sometimes sad, and always vulnerable. And she is upbeat, if somewhat wry. It’s a raw, beautiful and deep work,” the review concludes.

Race isn’t a “biological reality.” For @TheConversationUS, professor John P. Jackson, Jr. looks at the evidence that says race was invented by humans, not nature.

Postal services in some areas of the USA are unreliable, so it makes sense to have a grace period when it comes to returning election ballots — at least, that’s been the case for a number of years in around half of the states across the political spectrum. @bolts reports on how that’s changing. “This past March alone brought news that two states … will repeal their grace periods; that conservative federal judges are on the brink of killing grace periods in two other states; and that Trump, who for years has falsely alleged rampant mail-voting fraud, wants to pressure the rest of the nation to reject every mail ballot that arrives after polls close,” writes Alex Burness.

How might stress affect cancer? It’s a question that’s been asked for millennia. @KnowableMag reports on the hundreds of sometimes contradictory studies that have been done on the subject, and how scientists are finding consensus.

“Ever notice how Russia’s always the bad guy?” Marjorie Taylor Greene tweeted back in March, claiming that Hollywood is responsible for the world’s negative perception of the former USSR. @damemagazine’s Zeb Larson says actually Marj, it’s a bit more complicated than that. He takes us from the 19th century through WWII and the Cold War to today to explain America and Russia’s constantly evolving relationship.
