Third time I move back to #nixos, this time decidedly the last one because I finally get flakes and so I've spent the past day customizing my #flake.

I love that some projects come with their own flakes to just copy paste in my own flake. Insane that I can just "import" a program.

If you're a nerd like me and have just bought a #kobo #elipsa #ereader and want to set it up offline, there's an amazing repo by Michal Ulianko which automatically sets up sideload mode, firmware updates and handwriting recognition for you.

You need to supply it with firmware, iink and fonts files, modify the script a little to install to the correct path and only install the things you actually want but then it just works.

All wrapped with a handy little #nix #flake.

I hate the fact that the #nix #flakes lockfile has the same prefix as the main Nix file (`flake.lock` and `flake.nix`) causing autocompletion collisions in the terminal

Why weren't they named differently?? (`.flake.lock`? `Flake.lock`?)

Sad that it's not configurable in the Flake level

Hey #nix people.

What if I tell you I have a #flake with a #nixDarwin configuration and it's unable to see #brew.

It keeps telling me #brew is not available.
And I keep being able to use #brew.

Can't really find an answer online at the moment.

Code is here https://gitlab.com/pcoves/nix/-/tree/dev but I'm pretty sure it's a known project for anyone with more experience on the topic.
