Trying on my medieval fest getup and working on a bag to take with me. Dress still fits under the stays so no such thing as too much poof here!

Belt should have another bag attached it come Friday. It's still in the form of fabric and plans but I have faith! At least that one I won't be completely winging like I've been doing with this one. 😅

Hoping for good weather on the day. 🤞🏻

Ps. I think I need to shorten the corset lacing. There's way too much of it!

Reading up about various bio nylons (typically from corn, using gene-edited bacteria)… sounds very promising. Couldn’t find any information about by-products/waste, or more practically, how it takes dyes.

Business press reckon for clothing it can be quite breathable and moisture wicking (unlike normal nylon), and may be hypoallergenic. Explains Lululemon going all in on this material, at a guess.

I now have a little bit to see how it spins and blends.

Making good progress! I have finally added another color and I’m thrilled with the combination 💖 I rolled it into a cinnamon roll because it’s over 60 inches long so it’s hard to get it all in one shot otherwise. I’m including a pic of the chart as well for reference. That green stip is the the very bottom of the hill she is laying on. My actual “learning to spin” journey - I was living in Japan and wanted to take a fiberarts class so I took “spin to weave” class even though I couldn’t understand much Japanese at that point. I already knew how to weave so at least that part was fine, and I learned to spin by just kind of watching and following along. I did successfully complete one full project then. I took a Blending Board class at Estes Park Wool Market. I wasn’t all that careful or perfectionist about what I was learning and compared to some of the other students’, my rolags were way worse. But I brought them home and after unpacking them I am very happy with them. #Fiberarts content will slow down again here - 3.5 weeks of wonderful vacation in Denmark are behind me and I can't any longer do hours and hours of crafting every day. My day job wants some attention.

One of the last days there I spent exploring the most magical yarn shop I've ever been to.
