American White Pelicans Gathering Spot by Debra Martz
As the Pelicans begin to arrive at the lake each fall, this point seems to be one of their favorite gathering places. Great Blue Herons like this point year-round but there's no room this time as two fly on past.

A fun visitor arrived yesterday, a lone Robin. Today, I also saw one lone Grackle. Maybe there will be some fall migration sightings in this backyard after all. It is a weird fall, it is colder but the trees are not there yet, they are still all green! Calendars are still on the hold (except for desk ones) but I hope to get them all out by the end of the week.

OK, just for fun, let's do reverse chronological order. It sometimes happens that the last #borb you see is the most special. Well, that's very subjective, but that's what happened today.

At the end of the afternoon, after spending some time with some super expert birders on a raptor watch at Belvedere Castle, I strolled along the south path of the Turtle Pond and found, much to my surprise, a #Blackburnian #Warbler.
