One of Gothenburg's OG Elixir shops, they were Football Addicts back then. Since many years they go by Forza Football and Elixir is still central to what they do and when I asked they considered it an absolute must to join in sponsoring Goatmire Elixir.

A very interesting blog post wondering if contexts killed (hindered would surely be a better fit) the Phoenix framework adoption.

arrowsmithlabs.com/blog/did-co

When launching a brand new Phoenix app as a newcomer, understanding contexts, what they involve exactly and how to name them definitely brings a lot of (unnecessary) friction.

(but contexts are useful later on, once your codebase has grown, and it's great to have such a thing)

Arrowsmith LabsDid contexts kill Phoenix? Why didn't Phoenix take off? I ask whether contexts killed the momentum.

A new Elixir company has joined the party.

Physical access control and related security products. They'll be at NervesConf & Goatmire Elixir to tell you about their work with migrating their cloud to Elixir and creating a Nerves product.

A big thanks for their sponsorship!

The selection for the Goatmire Elixir - Even Access / Diversity tickets happens on the 20th.

This is most useful to people who are local since we can't cover travel or accomodation. But anyone is welcome to apply for the free ticket. Details at the link.

Google DocsGoatmire Elixir & NervesConf - Even AccessNot everyone has the same opportunity to spend money to attend a conference. We want to encourage people that would otherwise opt to not attend to in fact attend. This program is intended to enable people who might not make it otherwise to attend. Students, differently abled, various genders and identities, minorities and quite possibly people we've not considered. If you feel it might apply to you, go for it. Underjord is donating 10 tickets to this cause. We want to make sure there is an entryway that removes one financial roadblock in the decision-making process. We can't currently cover the stay or travel. This ticket will cover both Goatmire Elixir & NervesConf EU. We will be making selections on the 20th of July. If tickets remain it is first-come, first-serve after that. We do entirely manual evaluation and ask for the information only so that we know that the tickets are handed out in service of what we actually intended. Don't share a ton of sensitive information, we don't need it. If you are selected you will be sent a discount code and do proper registration from there.

Been using #zed for almost a year now, but the editor has reached a point where I can finally recommend it to others. With the debugger, out-of-your-way AI features, and the speed of it all, it’s been my main and only editor for the past month. I’m using it with #ruby, #elixir, and #flutter, and it’s been extremely productive.
