@emorydunn I actually went down a rabbit hole on this, and it appears to be an intentional choice by Patreon to not support one time donations in the hopes that you'll leave it active (or forget it's active).

Generally creators will offer an alternative option via PayPal/Ko-Fi etc for that.

I did see the lower dollar amount subscriptions and that's likely what I'll do.

I do want to be supportive of good things - but I'll never be happy subscribing to things that shouldn't require a subscription.

My late #genx #genx80s #eldermillennial nostalgists: Do you remember viscerally generic Safeway sodas?

To this day I have a sense memory of their "GRAPE" having more bite than metal and more (grape drink) bite than seems possible.

I remember their lemon-lime green drink being profoundly refreshing compared to (I guess) 7-Up.

Does anyone else remember this #Soda

Slightly concerning primary school memories from the 80s.

* Our school had an incinerator. Like, they just burnt rubbish while children were learning stuff.

* In grade 7 our teacher brought in mercury so we could play with it. We would push it around our desktops with our fingers. "Learning"!

* The same teacher taught us how to use BIC lighters and light matches. For survival, I guess.

* In the playground were 5 metre tall climbing poles with tyres bolted to them. There was no soft material on the ground.

#ImNotSayingImOldBut I remember the brief era between Blackberries and smartphones when, for a lot of money, you could buy a cell phone with a little slide-out keyboard with actual buttons. It could connect to the internet, but doing so cost 25 cents a minute, the screen was tiny and all websites were only built for desktop views, and there were no apps.

I also remember the first ads for Android smartphones.
