I am curious if the County has any plans to install public restrooms and/ or port-a-potties near where the unhoused frequently congregate. I was prompted to write you about that this evening because of an incident I witnessed yesterday. I was on Central near Atrisco and witnessed an unhoused person defecating against a building. When you take into account the fact that literally every... single... business... has a sign that either says "No Public Restrooms" or "Restrooms Are For Customers Only" then it truly has to make someone wonder where does a society expect its unhoused to relieve themselves? Certainly having the unhoused urinate and defecate in public spaces is not only unsanitary, but with no water to wash their hands this leads to an unhygienic situation as well. Not to mention the waste brings with it a slew of pathogens that could be exposed to the public.
