Quitting Alcohol: Why Any Day is a Great Time to Start: If you missed Dry January, don’t worry—there’s always Feb Fast to hop on the no-alcohol wagon. And if February doesn’t suit, there’s Dry July, Sober October, or even your own “Remember December” (okay, we made that one up). amhf.org.au/_quitting_alcohol_ #QuittingAlcohol #SoberLiving #DryJanuary #FebFast #DryJuly

I'm nearing the end of my Dry July challenge and this time, it's been tough. In other years where I've done this, I've had an empty beer fridge so there was nothing to tempt me. I once even went to the second week of August before having a drink.

This year, I filled my fridge just before the challenge and they greet me every time I reach for a NA beer. Also, I follow some beer drinkers who have shared some delicious-looking brews.

Thursday can't come soon enough. #DryJuly

I haven't got any #DryJuly photos or timeline memories to post today, so I thought I'd share a short story I wrote for a writing challenge on the first weekend of Dry July in 2021, Lagermind.

PS. I wasn't tempted to hop off the wagon and survived another four dry, non-alcoholic drinks weeks!

Tall And True · Lagermind"Ladies and gentlemen, though I use that term loosely," the pub laughed and the MC smiled. The publican would be happy. "It's the final of tonight's Lagermind."

Everybody at dinner, tonight, had a drink (beer or wine). Not wanting to feel left out, during my #dryjuly, I had a virgin margarita.

So far, I'm doing just fine. I've even visited a brewery with a friend and was able to enjoy non-alcoholic beer without feeling that I was missing out.

Tomorrow, we'll be at a wedding and I hope they have something with which I can raise a glass.

I passed the #DryJuly pub test yesterday, despite crying tears into my #HeapsNormal beer and soda water watching the #SydneySwan's 3rd loss of the season. 😭

Post from my first #DryJuly in 2013 popped up in my Facebook timeline memories, along with a tip: "To help survive the first Dry July weekend, remember why you signed up. The funds raised will make a difference to adults living with #cancer." ❤️

Survived the evening cravings of Day 4 of #DryJuly with a 0.5% Heaps Normal XPA, 0.05% Guinness Draft and a 0% mug of strong, black tea! Bring on Day 5 ... erm, and the weekend! 😬

Day 1 of my #DryJuly #fundraiser for people affected by #cancer. As I blogged in 2022, marking 10 years of supporting or partaking in the challenge, the temptations and cravings haven't got any easier over the years! 😬

Tall And True · Ten Years of Dry JulyTen years of Dry July has been a struggle at times. But after 31 days of alcohol-free charity fundraising, I always feel better afterwards.

I've updated my Dry July blog post from 2022 after a doubly successful 2023: I stayed dry for 31 days and raised a record $1100 for people affected by cancer. ✅✅
