Day 31 - Transgender Day of Visibility - Trans Pride Flag
The prompt for today’s Disneybound UK is Transgender Day of Visibility. Jeanine and I both dressed as the Trans Pride Flag. In the US and the UK transgender people are having our rights stripped from us on a daily basis. Our very existence is being used as scapegoats or debate points in political arguments that have nothing to do with us. In the US there have been over 800 bills introduced THIS YEAR alone to target transgender people. Transgender people only make up about 1.4% of the general population, meaning there’s only 4-5 million of us in the US in a population of over 340 million. We can’t fight this alone, we need support from cis people.
To my trans and non-binary siblings out there, I see you. You are valid, you are loved, and you are stronger than you realize. We will get through this together, stay strong, and live your life to the fullest. A world without transgender people has never, and will never exist.

It is based on a comedy short and is basically any Disneybound that is a bit extra obscure, that only just us ultra nerds would recognize without assistance. We both went for a couple lesser known characters from A Goofy Movie. Today I participated in a group bound with 12 other women in honor of Women’s History Month. Our bounds are all inspired by Karen Hallion’s She Series artwork. For mine I chose Rey from Star Wars. Rey embodies the spirit of resistance against overwhelming oppression and shows that hope can be found even in the worst of times. As a trans woman in the US right now, I can relate to this feeling. I know that my very existence and every moment of joy I find is an act of resistance against this overwhelming oppression.

Day 17 - Land of Yesterday (Defunct attractions): Cow and Tractor. We are taking you back to the early days of Disney California Adventure again and sharing of our cow and tractor bounds from the Bountiful Valley Farm area of the park. Because nothing says Disney or full price amusement park like looking at plastic cows and taking your photo in a Caterpillar branded tractor 🤣 This area eventually became the edge Avengers Campus and the entrance to Cars Land, a much better fit for the park.

#disneyboundchallenge Day 15- Comfort Characters One of our favorite comfort shows to watch when we are feeling down or just don’t want to have to really use our brains is Star Wars Young Jedi Adventures. It may be made for little kids but IMO it holds up well if you’re an older Star Wars fan too. I appreciate how gentle & wholesome the show is (I need something soft to balance out the heavy impending Andor season 2 feels). Lys with her purple hair and adorable little blue Nubs are unsurprisingly two of our favorite characters and since they matched our hair color we knew we had to dress as them for today’s prompt. They even visit Batuu in the show so it seemed fitting that we brought them to Batuu West on our recent Disneyland trip. 💜🩵

Sometimes when we visit Disneyland we spend almost as much time at the Disneyland Hotel & the Grand Californian. Often it’s just to have a nice quiet spot to take a break from the hustle and bustle of the parks, but I don’t have many photos of that. What I do have photos of is all the times we went to the hotels for character meals. We like to Disneybound as the characters when we go to a character meal, or at least dress to match the vibe. I love how they have been giving the characters different themed outfits for different seasons now. You could never get me to go to Goofy’s kitchen back in the day but put everyone in a cute spring outfit and I’m converted 😆
