Turns out I have to resize guest partition sizes before running qemu-img resize --shrink.

My poor first debian unstable install, sliced in half, unable to walk back up... An fsck didn't help much and my /home /boot and /root folder was gone!

But I reinstalled the whole thing in under an hour and 10 mins! Yay!

Installing pihole 6 on Debian Sid:

You _may_ encounter a "dependency unmet error".

To fix - manually install "bind9-dnsutils" and "lshw", then edit basic-install.sh and find the creation of the debian-meta.deb package. Modify the dependency to look for bind9-dnsutils instead of just dnsutils.

Then - run the base-install.sh.

Huh, here I thought Sid's gonna blow up as soon as I reboot. Must be a lucky break I guess.

Forums said to pay attention to the m̶a̶p̶ apt output when doing an upgrade. I have been doing that since I started using Arch back in 2022, btw.

I've also installed apt-listbugs and apt-listchanges and have also modernized the sources.list. I have the mailing list bookmarked as well. I think I should be set 4 unstable? Yeah.

Hey Debian Sid people. How's Debian Sid coming along, where do you use it (desktop/server/etc) and how is it different from Debian testing, Arch and openSUSE TW? I'll be trying it out in a bit soon to see for myself, maybe this afternoon cos I'm bored lol.

I don't really mind breaking changes since I'll just have this in a virtual machine and if it does eventually break, I get an opportunity to learn dpkg.

Thanks y'all

I’ve been fighting sound and WiFi issues on my 2024 #razerblade14 since I got it. I’ve been distro hopping like crazy with varying degrees of success. My path of insanity. #lmde6 -> #debiansid -> #arch -> #nixos -> #arch. I loved #nixos but ran into issues gaming. #arch WiFi works but drops requiring reboot and sound requires a script at startup but no system sounds. Installed #opensuse_tumbleweed tonight and sound and WiFi seems to work. Going to test games tomorrow. Maybe I found a winner?

A great day for all those using #mechanicalkeyboards on systems running #Debian:

The #QMK #CLI tool is now available in #DebianUnstable! tracker.debian.org/pkg/qmk 🎉 So cool!

(It's though still uninstallable due to a missing dependency, still waiting in the so called NEW queue: ftp-master.debian.org/new/pyth — But I assume this will follow soon, too.)
