Tomorrow (Thursday, 21 August) I’ll join a panel at the Tallinna Kunstihoone for the catalogue launch of the Tallinna Graafikatriennaal / Tallinn Print Trienniali in Tallin (Estonia) together with Marika Agu , Tõnis Jürgens and Brigita Reinert. Indeed, in the catalogue there are among the others two texts of mines: Trükitud versus elektrooniline (Print vs. Electrons) and Lõputu kirjastamise paradigma: ruum, aeg ja mälu (The Endless Publishing Paradigm: Space, Time, and Memory) for the very first time translated into Estonian, which is of course a huge honour!

Today Saturday, June 14 at 19:00 I’ll give a talk at @hkw_berlin – Haus der Kulturen der Welt in Berlin, focused on my last book Tactical Publishing, Using Senses, Software, and Archives in the Twenty-First Century, published by @themitpress.
I’ll then be in a dialogue moderated by MISS READ festival director Michalis Pichler (thanks for the invitation!).

Being able to modulate your tech comms is more effective for clear communication than asserting everyone should "just know how to block what they don't like".
Information transfer is bilateral, by definition. Having multiple parties involved means that there are SO many possible adjustments to improve comfort and quality for all involved. (Which includes anyone later, who sees it or is told about it or the original participants who go back and check.)

After participating to a panel on media art publications, I’m giving an invited talk on May 9 (tomorrow) at 13:45 at Teatro Los Fundadores in Manizales (Colombia), as part of the Festival Internacional de la Imagen about “Neural, 30+ years of interdependent networking”, thanks to Winchester School of Art Department of Art and Media Technology, Andres Burbano, and Felipe Cesar Londoño for the support.

Gosh. Photo memories say it's 10 years since we exhibited Binaudios.
This was a pairing with professional art-inventor Dominic Wilcox to make an installation for Thinking Digital. My role was technologist.

This was a really fun project. I'd love to do more of this sort of thing!

Looking back to when I designed and built (with Ftank Balde) the "Wonky Drum Sequencer". a MIDI controller that adds a new twist to drum sequencing. This project became the foundation for workshops I led at STEIM, exploring new approaches to rhythm and sound. Grateful to the Dutch Creative Industries Fund for supporting these courses and helping make these creative sessions possible. @stimuleringsfonds #WonkyDrumSequencer #STEIM #DutchCreativeIndustriesFund #MidiController #ElectronicMusic #SoundDesign #CreativeTechnology #MusicWorkshops #DigitalInstruments #ExperimentalMusic #MusicTech #DIYInstruments #ElectronicArt #SoundExploration #InteractiveArt #InnovationInMusic #CreativeCoding #TechArt #ArtAndTechnology #NewMediaArt

⚡⚡ BIG ANNOUNCEMENT ⚡⚡

My dear network,

As I’m about to finish my PhD, I’ll be looking for new employment starting in 2025!

I work as a UX/UI designer, with my focus primarily on creating interfaces for electronic music / multimedia arts, and more broadly, interactive devices.

Throughout my 10+ year career, I’ve collaborated with artists, foundations, and companies, contributing to a variety of creative and technical endeavors. I also have extensive experience writing funding applications, successfully securing resources for multiple projects both independently and as part of a team.

I specialize in both designing and constructing electronic devices, as well as developing graphical user interfaces (GUIs) tailored to specific needs. With a strong background in digital fabrication, I operate my own fabrication lab and have previously served as a lab manager in FabLabs, overseeing a wide range of projects.

In recent years, after a decade of working as a designer, I have broadened my practice to include academic research.

My recent research efforts have primarily explored critical reflection and sustainable action within design practices. I have investigated open-source tools and methods to develop interfaces in the form of both tangible devices and GUIs. The aim of these explorations is to push the boundaries of current practices, finding innovative solutions that enhance the full potential of each design project while considering its long-term impact.
I engage in hands-on design projects and studies with people and communities

As my focus has shifted to academia in the past few years, and I would love to continue pursuing this path. However, I am open to any employment opportunity that can benefit from my skills and expertise.

I am currently based in Parma (northeast Italy), but I am happy to relocate for the right opportunity.

If your organization has an opening that resonates with my skills, or if you come across an announcement that might be a good fit, please let me know!

Thank you in advance!
