Humans tend to gossip more with closer friends and about distant acquaintances for negative behavior which helps people to learn who to #cooperate with and who to avoid. Using social cues to encourage #BehaviorChange results in better outcomes than insisting people change.
@fencoul @rcbevans If I can just quietly slip in here and make a brief recommendation. There's a book by Rutger Bregman, Humankind - very worth your while if you haven't read it. (in summary we're inherently good and choose cooperation whenever possible)
As for all this political nonsense? Step above the woods and see the trees. Drop the political semantics. Our democracies are broken, held together only by our incessant consumption. Lockdowns show what is possible.
