Gigi 🍄‍🟫Huh.I have just spent the last half hour discovering that very many of the tomato varieties I have purchased over the years are not actually the variety they're supposed to be.It happens a lot when I get seedlings at garden centres: The tomatoes turn out very different from what the marker says or shows.One of my current favourites is a small mango-coloured plum tomato that I have no idea what it actually is because somebody clearly swapped markers at the garden centre.And then there are things like these strange finger-like cherry tomatoes that clearly got cross-pollinated with something last year before I saved the seeds. Gigi 🍄‍🟫It's good to know that as you age you can still have terrible ideas. And you can learn from them.I don't know what I was thinking mixing up a bunch of different varieties of radish seeds and then just scattering them, rather than planting them in sensible rows or clusters.I guess I was thinking, "I don't actually need to keep the seeds so what difference does it make," except now I need to keep the seeds of one variety, and I don't remember which variety goes with which flowers.Also! First full ball zucchini! This is Cue Ball. I also planted: • Ronde de Nice • Eight Ball (deep green), and • One Ball (yellow).I hope I get to take a photo of them side by side at some point, but they really do seem to be coming in on their own schedules.I also planted Eclipse (deep green with stars) and Sunburst (yellow) pattypans.
