Without a retrospective to fully illustrate this concept – it feels like, and by data based summation, that AI (false naming) in our times, is like those robot thingies (yeah with citations) with tentacles furiously searching for the Nebuchadnezzar. They are searching for you. When they do, information and reality is a heavily curated and controlled concept. All I can advise is, be your own Neo. #ai #corporations #conglomerates #thematrix

@energisch_ @gerrymcgovern unfortunately, the more mom and pop, specialized, independent #home service companies get eaten up by larger all-in-one, everything home #conglomerates the harder that becomes.

Even with their #expensive #crm #serviceTitan #efficiency #constantContact #app tool for #scheduling and #pricing their new #super #skills #company needs to charge more for everything with less experienced #workers than if you had a #momAndPop #master do the work!

If anyone truly wants to #save the #Planet everyone needs to kick #bro out of the #game

Anyone that thinks replacing #human #skills and #abilities with #software and #machines is better for the #Environment than letting a human expell their own #energy doing the same things, is the problem, not part of any real word solution.

Are you the #Victim or the #Crime ?

Based on my local experience, list 2 (Safeway for me) sucks, invades privacy, limits choices to major brands and doesn't support fringe products my medically limited diet requires and uses a never ending shell game to inflate prices. List 1 (Fred Meyer for me) was until recently much better in most every way, but is increasingly going the way of Safeway and kin. In a small town, these are my choices. Welcome to my world everybody.

"the year is 2100. the great us-china #cyberwar has destroyed the teleinformatic brain chip control system (TIBCCS), returning #free will to the masses for the first time in 30 years. as roving bands of #freeminds ravage the #countryside, zonked like they're on ultrameth from a #lifetime of chipsleep, the #economy is reorganized according to #neofeudal principles. guided by the maxim "#democracy for the worthy", #oligarchic LLCs (limited liege #conglomerates) win vast manors worked by the remaining chipsleepers. freeminds subsist by #selling #arts and #crafts—a grueling #job, but higher pleasures like #mathematics are restricted to the #elites by sumptuary #laws. a band of #poor and ragged #wanderers huddles the night in an abandoned #mall. perhaps they will find #companionship. or perhaps they will part at daybreak, and forever remain strangers."

From the "I'm not #vegan but I do all the #cooking for one" department:

Once the #food #agriculture #conglomerates get on the #plantbased wagon, everything starts stampeding towards #vegetarian and #vegan offerings (good!). Once you have a whole #NewJersey full of #foodscientists and #chemists working on making plant-based taste indistinguishable from, and #economiesofscale kick in, and cost parity is reached its just a matter of time.

Wilson Cycle Phase 1: Rifting

“These two mountain ranges are really one and the same – except that they are now separated by the Atlantic Ocean, which cut the range in two at a low angle when it opened between them. At one time the two belts had been joined, end-to-end, Caledonides in the north, Appalachians in the south…”

~ John Tuzo Wilson, “Did The Atlantic Close And Then Re-Open?” Nature, Vol. 211, No. 5050, August 13, 1966

Rifting of the enormously long mountain chain ended up with parts in both North America (Appalachians) and Norway (Caledonides), among many other places. Geologist and Geophysicist John Tuzo Wilson reconstructed the multi-phased tectonics to trace the earlier proto-Atlantic Ocean that closed, and today’s Atlantic Ocean that opened through the processes that are named for him: The Wilson Cycles.

In the video below, “Wilson Cycle Phase 1: Rifting”, we travel with Professor Dougal Jerrom of Oslo University, and researchers from the Centre for Earth Evolution and Dynamics (CEED) who take us back 450 million years, and into what was once 90 kilometers deep in the Earth’s crust to the Caledonian rocks of Norway that tell us about the biggest cycle on Earth. Don’t miss the video which gives a voice to the rocks that record our dynamic Earth and the Wilson Cycle.
