Amadeus Paulussen<a href="https://sonomu.club/@m2m" class="u-url mention">@m2m</a> <a href="https://mastodon.social/@7sleepersmusic" class="u-url mention">@7sleepersmusic</a> 2/2 In my case, I use an <a href="https://mstdn.social/tags/arch" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#arch</a> based operating system with <a href="https://mstdn.social/tags/pipewire" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#pipewire</a> and <a href="https://mstdn.social/tags/wireplumber" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#wireplumber</a> (no JACK), <a href="https://mstdn.social/tags/bitwigstudio" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#bitwigstudio</a>, an RME Fireface UFX in <a href="https://mstdn.social/tags/classcompliant" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#classcompliant</a> mode, a Dangerous Audio Source, an AKAI MPK261, an Intech Audio EF44, a nOb Nob Control and a few other things (see <a href="https://amadeuspaulussen.com/info/gear" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener" translate="no">https://amadeuspaulussen.com/info/gear</a>) as well as a handful of native plugins (no yabridge) and it works absolutely fabulous for me. I really couldn't be happier. 🤓

I can only use all 22 inputs if I use the pro audio profile. Unfortunately I get digital artifacts with the latter. <a href="https://mstdn.social/tags/linuxaudio" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#linuxaudio</a> Luckily I do not need all the inputs in parallel. 🫣

You know, I personally love what e.g. <a href="https://mstdn.social/tags/rme" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#rme</a> are doing. They provide all sorts of apps for <a href="https://mstdn.social/tags/windows" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#windows</a> and <a href="https://mstdn.social/tags/macos" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#macos</a>, but offer the option to use their interfaces solely via the <a href="https://mstdn.social/tags/hardware" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#hardware</a> and without any drivers with a <a href="https://mstdn.social/tags/usb" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#usb</a> <a href="https://mstdn.social/tags/classcompliant" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#classcompliant</a> mode too. You miss a bunch of channels that way, but I even extended my <a href="https://mstdn.social/tags/interface" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#interface</a> with 8 additional <a href="https://mstdn.social/tags/microphone" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#microphone</a> inputs via <a href="https://mstdn.social/tags/adat" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#adat</a> and couldn't be happier with how it performs on <a href="https://mstdn.social/tags/linux" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#linux</a>. <a href="https://mstdn.social/tags/linuxaudio" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#linuxaudio</a>

Not only in terms of <a href="https://mstdn.social/tags/plugins" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#plugins</a> available natively (see e.g. <a href="https://linuxdaw.org/" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener" translate="no">https://linuxdaw.org/</a>) but in particular because of <a href="https://mstdn.social/tags/pipewire" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#pipewire</a>. If you want to give it another try I'd be there to help (if I can). 🫣️🙂️ PD: I sold my arsenal on UA interface and accelerators and went on to an <a href="https://mstdn.social/tags/rme" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#rme</a> <a href="https://mstdn.social/tags/fireface" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#fireface</a> <a href="https://mstdn.social/tags/usb" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#usb</a> <a href="https://mstdn.social/tags/classcompliant" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#classcompliant</a> interface with an AD extension unit and never looked back. 🤓️
