I just scored the Linux Humble Bundle. One of the video courses is "Linux Foundation Certified System Administrator" I've been studying on and off for CompTIA Linux+.

I'm thinking I should switch gears and go for the Linux Foundation cert. It seems like it might hold a little more weight with employers and likely covers everything necessary to also knock out Linux+.

What do you all think?

Are all #ISO #auditors this fucking dumb or is it an act, to lure you into oversharing, revealing your process dirty laundry?

Srsly this guy (once again, 4/4 new auditor in as many #certification audits/inspections) is asking fundamentally basic questions that make me think "have you... ever... engineered anything in your life before? why are you an auditor."

Like explaining what a jira workflow is... or what a branch/merge strategy is. Fuck's sake.

Ministry of #Education announced a contract to supply 700k #laptops for #students and #teachers in #Poland. One of the requirements - have both TCO and EPEAT #certification.

And right-wing media are just fuming! This "only" qualifies #Dell, #HP and #Lenovo! What about Polish laptop manufacturers?! Do they want them to die?!

You mean the ones that buy #Chinese Celeron-based e-waste with 2 GB of RAM and 33 GB eMMC storage, slap their logo on and call it "premium device"? Well, yes. Let them die.

Time to tackle the re-certification for the Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE) exam.

Spun up a virtual lab environment with an Ansible contol node plus 5 managed nodes to practice with.

All easily done on Proxmox VE, that is running on a server in the @hetzner datacenter.

And the best part: VM snapshots makes it easy to roll back to the original state, whenever it's needed 🙂

Now let's automate and practice 🤓

Given the somewhat phlegmatic attitude of the British people towards new technologies, it’s no wonder that ISPs are still stuck in the Stone Age (IPv4), even though the stones (the pool of IPv4 addresses) are gone. While I am lucky to have an external IPv4 address, I can forget about a version 6 address (thumbs down for Virgin Media). Luckily, there is a solution, and it’s free!
