I got the word this AM that #GEICO has accepted full liability (DUH) for my car after their insured hit it then walked away from the scene.

A word of advice - when insurance companies tell you there's nothing they can do to help you find a driver, don't give up. Be persistent. Also - be sure to get personal info from witnesses.

I didn't witness the pking lot collision. I was inside the bldg. I thank the bystander who alerted me.

Take lots of photos. State your case & be polite.

The crash occurred when a vehicle left a road “for unknown reasons,” traveled through a field & slammed into the program’s building around 3:20PM CT Monday – striking several people – before exiting the other side, police said in a Tues morning news release.

Killed were 3 girls from #Chatham – Alma Buhnerkempe, 7; Kathryn Corley, 7; & Ainsley Johnson, 8 – & an 18-year-old Springfield woman, Rylee Britton, the Sangamon County coroner’s office said Tues. 6 other children were taken to area hospitals, one of whom was in critical condition Tues morning, police said.

A #CarCrash into an after-school program building in central #Illinois this week – that killed 4 people ages 7–18 & injured 6 other #children – does not appear to have been a targeted attack, Illinois State Police said Tues.

Still, the cause of Monday afternoon’s crash into the #YNOT after-school program in #Chatham is under investigation, state police said as the community mourns & awaits answers about what led up to it.
