MJordy Maree on a semi final wave at the 2025 WSL Cape Town Pro. Same day as the previous surf shot, but a different angle to reduce the backlight of the setting sun. Other wise similar settings: High shutter speed and medium aperture. MLevi Epenetos surfing the quarter final of WSL Cape Town Pro 2025. The shot has a lot of contrast and nice texture on the water from being backlit / sidelit by the sun. It was still bright enough to shoot with 1/1000s in order to capture the spray and hectic movements. Surfing is a quick sport. Chose a larger aperture because I wanted detail on the face of the wave and the spray.
