The white building on the left is the facade of the third oldest bar in town. It first opened in and it’s still there. For over 15 years, a sign behind the windows read: “Not for sale or rent.”
And yet, dozens, maybe even hundreds of people dropped a note in the mailbox, hoping to take over the legendary Amsterdam café Brandon. In vain…
The old proprietors, the Brandon family, lived above the establishment, and as long as they were alive, it would remain closed.
The café is located at Keizersgracht (corner of Leliegracht), on the edge of the Jordaan.

360 degree turn from a shoreline of a waterway, early morning before sunrise. Starting looking high up into the sky where several Heron nests are seen near the top of pine trees. Moving to the right, and down back at ground level lush tropical foliage from trees, bushes and plants lead to the water's edge. Next, a boat ramp with two long floating piers for boats to tie up, or for fishing. Next, a modest concrete bridge spans the waterway, with much traffic and lighting from nearby businesses. Next, looking across to the opposite shoreline where a private marina with several speed boats are tied up, then three large condominiums, which cast their towering reflections onto the water below. Next, to a far off bend in the waterway leading out of sight. Next, moving again to the right, a colorful sky comes into view as sunrise approaches. The warm colors are reflected back by the water below. In some posts are light fog still floats above the water's surface. A fisherman, wearing red, in a small boat attends to his line. Moving to the right again, clouds of fog float by beneath the brilliant colors above, and the wetland emerges from the shadows. Marsh reeds and grasses across the waterway with little water inlets winding through between tall tree skeletons, mostly baren. All casting their shadows onto the water below. Lastly, moving to the right, and up into the sky, a bird flying over the photographer, and continuing up, a crescent day-moon appears in the biig blue sky, above where the video began. Throughout the sounds of a variety of birds are heard chirping, honking, and squealing.
