On the way to my work in the #museum: It's the time of #aubrieta deltoidea, a traditional garden plant in #Alsace. The colourful cushions have a sweet scent and the sounds of pollinators (today it was much too cold for them, we have an icy NE wind). It's named after the French #botanical artist Claude Aubriet: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Claude_Aubriet

A village street: in the foreground a dry stone wall and a green lantern, in the background a half-timbered house and the church tower. The wall and its gutter to the pavement are overgrown with Aubrieta cushions in various shades of purple. Our museum is beside the church.

Aubrieta deltoidea cussion in macro, showing the purple petals. Aubrieta has small flowers with four lavender to deep pink petals. It's a species of the mustard family and good for pollinators. Loves rock gardens and dry walls.

The aubrieta cushions between the wall and the pavement show different colour shades from dark and bright lavender to bright pink.
