I love this interview @annaleen did with #BootsRiley about how his early experiences as a labor organizer and party promoter helped shape the way he writes fiction.

"I was involved in constructing fake worlds early on with my music, because the stuff I wrote was about a thriving movement that was only in my mind. It was nowhere in existence. I wanted to excite people about joining it, you know—get people excited about the possibilities of what that movement could be."

What is going on in WA? This sounds a lot like the “WorryFree” corporation from ‘Sorry to Bother You’, the Boots Riley horror comedy. The workers might want to read their contracts closely.

“When someone shows you who they are believe them the first time.”

“We’ve got a restaurant in there, we’ve also got a gym, and we’ve got other facilities that keep them glued in there.”

Cute moment in the #Visitations #podcast. They are interviewing #BootsRiley and are being introduced to his kids.

> Wait. You're #ElijahWood?
> Yeah.
> You're Frodo?
> Yeah.

It does seem he has a healthy relationship to this aspect of his fame. I am old enough to remember him as a kid actor so I don't just associate him with that one role. To me he will always be the kid mocking an old arcade video game in Back to the Future II.
