The Minneapolis Police Department’s pending federal consent decree will stay on pause for another month, after a judge Thursday approved the U.S. Department of Justice motion requesting the extension. mprnews.org/story/2025/03/20/m

While the city of Minneapolis and Justice Department had reached an agreement soon before Trump took office that would hold MPD to federal court-enforceable reforms, it has yet to be approved by a federal judge.

Not long after the change in administration, the new Justice Department filed a motion to put the case on hold. That was set to end Thursday, but the department filed another motion Wednesday afternoon to stay the proceedings.

How can we make things better?
I’m starting off with being productive. Add value to the people around me. Support and collaborate with people around me. At work, outside work, and while being social.
Spending wisely and supporting businesses that have similar values. Shop local. Spend local. Let’s work on filling the deficiencies around us.
I can’t fight remote well funded people as an individual with any impactful ROI, but I can be a dependable positive representative for my communities.
