Cryptocurrencies burning the planet is a misjudge about them. And calling something scam is not to be taken lightly.

If you think cryptos are wasting resources, you should also consider the question that how much resources do traditional currencies combined consume. Then you have to compare the output of both of them, fiat and cryptos. Finally you can decide which one is more efficient and which one is wasting resources.

@Gina Hello. I just read your post(plural you) about #fosstodon in need of help. I have 2 tomans(it's our local currency) to give you:

  • People in sanctioned countries, like myself, can't easily receive or send money via regular methods. It could be good if you also put a #cryptocurrency address to receive donations. #BitcoinCash #Monero and #Litecoin could be good starts. They all have near zero transaction fees. Also you'll attract people who don't like the banking system. People who have other coins can easily swap their coins online to one of above.

  • #Fediverse is #decentralized. And I think we should avoid big instances. Maybe it's a good idea to encourage people to create account on small instances proven to be reliable. Maybe even donate the extra donations to small instances.

I created an #X account because I wanted to have more reach for my crowdfunding campaign(cr8r.gg/@farooqkz/114295543059). But then I greatly regretted my registration on the platform.

The problem's not just that it recommends these people on the top. The problem's also that it requires following at least 1. But it doesn't provide search feature in this window so I can easily find the one I want to follow myself. The only way is scrolling.

I was never more confident that decentralization advocates, including cash and messenger, must have decentralized platforms such as Fediverse and Mastodon as their primary channel.
