Bee on Lavender from my garden this evening
The lavender path at our allotment is in full bloom at the moment and currently has at least two pollinators per square foot. There are six or more bee species plus numerous hoverflies and butterflies. The nearby runner beans are in flower so benefit hugely from the presence of all those additional pollinators.

The chestnut tree is in bloom, and the bumblebees are delighted!
Picture taken by me, today, Suffolk County, NY, USA
It doesn't matter how many times I see the bees neatly arranging themselves to feed, it always makes me smile.

Three allotment photos from this lunchtime.
The first picture is for context - it's a table made of a metal frame with a rotting chipboard and formica top.
We've seen solitary leafcutter bees going into the chipboard edge for a few weeks, and today I decided to try to photo them.
I'll never make a wildlife photographer - insufficient patience!
But you can just see a couple of the bees in the next two pictures.
These leafcutter bees are important pollinators and it's fascinating to watch them carrying pieces of leaf into the burrows in the table edge.

( #HootinTootinTuesday is a day late this week. My apologies.)
Thank you honeybees! I love you! Keep giving all my plants the succ. Thank you for your service.
Thanks also to this big chonkin' bumblebee who buzzes like a chainsaw and crashes into everything it touches. Bless.
I saw a bumblebee today. #Gardening #Zone5 #BeesOfMastodon #SignsOfSpring
Good deed for the day (I hope), found two bees swimming in the bird bath, scooped them out, assuming they needed help. They were moving about and the log one was able to fly a bit.
We may have a pet Carpenter Bee! I just saw a fat yellow butt crawl into the window frame, where I spied a little pile of "sawdust."
When I lived in Frankfurt, I had a pet Carpenter Bee living in/on my loggia, too, who I named Olivia.
Olivia Bee Havelland.
