Hello, I couldn't figure out how to migrate my content from my original instance at @LadyWhimsicalElf@beekeeping.ninja so I am sadly starting over the server is down at the moment and has been down for a few days. I discovered it will be shutting down Jan 02, 2025. I was sharing my gardening posts and my crochet project due to it being winter here in UpstateNY. I've made the difficult decision to stand-down beekeeping.ninja. This is due to several factors, including my lack of time to maintain it, and the constantly increasing costs.

Back from the dead.... again.

More postgres woes. Lost most of our snapshots but was able to restore from an older backup.

Seems that we are back after a 3 day outage due to filesystem issues.

To better serve our members we have moved the server to a US based data center. That should improve latency for most of you.

Also some nice hardware updates to our infra. We will be tweaking it over the next few days, so some brief interruptions are expected.

The catnip seeds have begun sprouting and more spinach seeds too have started to emerge!

So we are back after an almost 2 day outage.

Database volume corruption, restoring from backups was mostly a failure, but managed to massage one of them to work.

Site will be slow for a bit while we try to catch up with all the traffic, once that is done I will take the servers down for a rescale.

Thursday October 5th, 2023
We have recovered from a data corruption issue that started Wednesday at 1:15pm Eastern time.
Despite having multiple backups, replicas and snapshots, we were not easily able to fix the issue. We spent today rebuilding the data, and the site is back up. We will be making some changes here and there over the next few days, but we're glad to still exist!
