The latest piece off my beading needles…
This beaded bead has the symmetry of a soccer ball and contains 810 seed beads. It measures 3 cm in diameter.
It has 32 holes, and it’s very hollow.
There’s only one and you can find it in my Etsy shop, gwenbeads. #bead #mathart #beadweaving
I finished this Sunday! The main body is made with what I assume are 6/0 cylinder beads, whereas the flower is made from 8/0 seed beads. I got an aluminum bicycle chain to hang this from, as you can see. Looks quite spiffy.
That said, this is for sale...

An green aventurine thumb stone put into a beaded netting bezel and strung together with matching rondelle beads, and 8/0 and 11/0 beads. The piece measures 18 inches, with plans of an extender chain/clasp the moment I can find my jump rings.
Traditionally, aventurine symbolizes fortune and luck, and has been called a "gambling stone" in many circles. Funnily enough, I was finishing this necklace as one of my nephews was trying to defeat Aventurine on Honkai: Star Rail.
I know I haven't been posting here often enough, so here is one of my latest projects: @potomacbeads' Zinna Garland bracelet (free YouTube pattern!), and as you can see it is a very charming piece.
I also have a Facebook raffle going on! More info is linked below. If you have any questions about it, please let me know!

A while back, I had the opportunity to get a free Potomac Beads kit during their holiday events last year, and I finally put it together.
The piece measures about 22 inches (56 cm), comprising of jet black fire polished glass beads of various sizes. Four mm bicones and 11/0 seed beads act as spacers between them. The original design doesn't call for the galvanized brass/gold bicones shown in the second picture, but I thought they would look good with the entire piece.
Many thanks to https://PotomacBeads.com for such a delightful project kit.
First finished project of 2024! Pattern is Carole Ohl's Pericón, available on Etsy. I felt the Red Pear colorway would be a great fit with the Antique Bronze finish of the Cymbal Lygia bail, and I was right! The rose gold crystal pearls add a bit of warmth and coordinate with the 11/0. All in all, a delightful piece.

An experiment in #BeadWeaving for the #DreamsOfAmarna.
Maybe.
I hope it will make a companion for Mary's daisy necklace.
But first I have to work out how to take it off the loom safely...
It's #ArtAdventCalendar time again, huh? Well, let's start with this beauty.
So, a while back, I was looking through my collection of old beading magazines and discovered this beautiful medallion pendant. Had to search for the triangle beads, but I managed to get them.
I have plans on making a couple more for the holiday season.
The original pattern belongs to Margherita Fusco and can be found in the February 2017 edition of Bead and Button magazine.
Finally finished this beautiful necklace: Cindy Holsclaw's Opulent Octahedron Necklace. The pattern is found on her website, but I found it in the October/November '15 Beadwork Magazine.
Aztec gold CzechMates bars and Capri blue Preciousa 6mm bicones form the beaded beads. Iridescent dark blue Prestige crystal pearls of various sizes space between them while AB blue violet rondelle beads add a touch of sparkle. The entire piece is about 22 inches.
Price upon request.
Question for #Indigenous and #Native #beadweaving folks: Are glass and/or plastic beads (seed beads) used in traditional #BeadArt ?? Do you prefer a particular material of bead over another?
My latest beaded necklace, and yes, it is available for purchase. Inspired by Potomac Beads' latest video tutorial. Measures about 22 inches.
Please inform me if you are interested in purchasing
I really love how this turned out. if I decide I have energy to sell my jewellery, I'll make at least one variation of this to sell.
Cranberry goldluster 11/0s, siam 3mm bicones (crystals), the little thing on the inside is called a "dragon scale" bead, with a rainbow/copper finish, and the long purple-y beads are called "dagger beads".
This fits like a choker with the dagger beads spreading out like a collar, and uses St Petersburg stitch. #MelindreaMakes #mastoart #beadweaving #jewelry
A tubular herringbone bezel: One side 8/0 seeds, the other 11/0 seeds. This format curls the rope inward, making it an easy way to latch the bezel, in this case an obsolete Italian Lira coin. After I connected the ends, I did some makeshift peyote beading on both sides with 11/0 and 15/0 seed beads, and there we go. The bail is tubular herringbone with some 11/0 seeds.
I have decided. I'm going to make several beaded rings to help my finger joints to not do "unhealthy finger joint stuff". Not sure I'll be getting one for each finger, but here's my first, a pinkie ring.
Yes, it is *really* hard to take a photo of a ring you're currently wearing >.>
This is a natural cabochon stone, with 11/0 and 15/0 seed beads to bezel it and create the band. #beadweaving #jewelry #MelindreaMakes
Finished my second piece of beadwork jewellery. This uses superduos (a type of two-hole bead) and seed beads, working it into the herringbone stitch, with a peyote toggle bar to keep it in place.
I'd originally hoped the central stripe would be more turquoise, but I like the mottled effect of it in the end. It looks great together! #MelindreaMakes #BeadWeaving
My first attempt at #BeadWeaving and while it's a lot shorter than I foolishly expected it'd be (I'd probably need at least 4-5x the amount of focal beads compared to what I had ...) I really like how it came out.
Spiral rope using a tutorial by Jill Wiseman on u-tube, from 8/0 miyuki seed beads, 11/0 toho beads and some kind of clear/red crystal I got from somewhere
Everyone! I am -ahaha- proud to have my Pride bracelets up for grabs in the shop place. Limited numbers, with more to be made. Also, more pride flags forthcoming!

...and apparently, I *did not* post pics of the blue one here. -_- I am *so* sorry. Let me fix that!
