Excursion tip (summer edition)! // Agathenburg Castle
If you want to take a little trip in summer: one of my favourite art locations up here in Northern Germany is Agathenburg Castle near Stade. I try to go there as often as possible because the exhibitions are so exciting and you can also get away from the big city for a while. The exhibition programme, which has been put together by the artistic director Claudia Rasztar for a few years now, makes me very happy every time. And there's coffee and cakes too. And with a view of a horizon where it looks as if the ships are sailing through meadows and fields. The exhibition "Aus der Spur" is currently running until 7 September with works by Eleonora E. Damme, Nadine Fecht, Marthe Lallemand, Wilhelm Meister and Ellen Möckel.
From Hamburg, for example, take the S3 from the main railway station to Neugraben, then the S5 to Agathenburg, a 3-minute walk to the castle.
