Zeitquelle – Der Grünemannsbrunnen in Laubach
Versteckt zwischen Fachwerk und Kirche fließt seit über 400 Jahren das Wasser des Grünemannsbrunnens.
Was einst Leben spendete, erzählt heute Geschichte – in Sandstein gemeißelt, im Plätschern bewahrt.
Ein Ort der Stille, an dem Zeit nicht vergeht. sondern verweilt.
The curved façade with the long horizontal strips of balconies, which later residents or tenants closed off with windows, reflects the ideals of the #Bauhaus. The dark bands of balconies cut through the brightly whitewashed walls and divide the building into horizontal strips. In contrast, the cubic monolith in front of the building, which apparently houses transformers or electricity distributors, has no architectural structure. Its bizzare beauty stems from the crown of power cables that spread out in many directions. #architektur #architekturfotografie #architecture #architecturephotography #modernarchitecture #bnw #urban #urbanism #urbanphotography #curve
I have no idea what type of building - office, substation, bunker, warehouse or something - is hidden behind this unusual façade. A strange honeycomb structure that looks mysterious, forbidding and perhaps a little cruel. You can see in detail that there are slits on the lower edge of some of the honeycombs. What is supposed to penetrate through them? Light, air, noise? #architektur #architekturfotografie #architecture #architecturephotography #modernarchitecture #bnw #urban #urbanism #urbanphotography #brutalism #brutalist #geometry
One of the roots of Bauhaus architecture is said to lie in Mediterranean architecture. Paul Klee, Walter Gropius and Le Corbusier were all fascinated by the Mediterranean sun, but also by the cubic architecture of the Mediterranean countries. When the Bauhaus was expelled from Germany during the Nazi era, it found a new home on the shores of the very Mediterranean that had inspired it. Here is an example of this.

The Viennese architects coophimmelb(l)au were commissioned to build the new Musée des Confluence. coophimmelb(l)au designed a UFO that hovers like a silvery cloud over the mouth of the Saône and Rhône rivers. This daring landmark architecture - similar to the Elbphilharmonie concert hall in Hamburg or the capital's airport in Berlin - turned out to be a spectacular multi-million-dollar disaster. But the image gain quickly outweighed these disadvantages. Access to the museum is via a beautiful park along the banks of the Saône, which invites visitors to take a relaxing stroll. #architektur #architekturfotografie #architecture #architecturephotography #modernarchitecture #bnw #urban #urbanism #urbanphotography #lyon #france #museum
The most spectacular residential building in Lyon #Confluence is certainly the Tour Ycone, the filigree residential tower by Pritzker Prize winner Jean Nouvel. With its soft colors and blurred, almost indistinct silhouette, the Tour Ycone nestles into the post-industrial urban landscape between the #Rhône and #Saône rivers. The tower appears to be loosely assembled from fragile scaffolding and rectangular frames. It looks as if a light breeze could bring this upwardly divergent house of cards crashing down. But a perforated, loosely attached roof forces the airy shape of the tower into a solid form.
